Do any of these other drivers have a World of Outlaws championship, a Kings Royal win, a Western World and a 25 win season in Central PA in their list of accomplishments? Did any of these other drivers turn a "penalty box" car into a top 5 finisher almost every night while dragging 60 pounds more than every other car because his car owner wanted him to run a Ford? Davis competed against Sammy, Steve and Wolfie in their prime and his accomplishments sometimes can get lost in the immense shadow of three of the all time greatest drivers. To keep him out of the Hall of Fame year after year is an injustice, especially when the owner he had the most success for is already in the Hall.

It's obviously just my own opinion, but I have always viewed Davis as a really good driver, not necessarily a great driver. And it is the Hall of Fame, and not the Hall of really good.

I'd say it's the Hall of Good after they let Glen Fitzcharles in.

And even though he gets a lot of flack on this message board for being a school bus driver, are 3 Knoxville Nationals titles and 2 World of Outlaws titles not good enough to get Mark Kinser into the Hall?

HDsmoke20, I agree about Mark Kinser having a more than good enough record of big wins, number of WoO wins and two WoO titles but I'm fairly sure that Mark isn't old enough to meet induction age requirements. If I'm not mistaken a living prospect must be at least 50 years old to be allowed to be an accepted candidate to be considered for nomination.

From the Sprint Car Hall of Fame website: Individual shall be eligible if he/she has ceased to be an active sprint car racing driver, owner, mechanic, builder, manufacturer, sponsor, promoter, official or media member for at least five (5) years preceding January 1st of the induction year. I don't think Mark has run since 2004 or 2005.

Never saw Johnny Anderson race, but was told a read about him in magazines. I actually met him years ago at a West Capital reunion get together and I sat next to him and we talked for hours on an old picnic bench, and from what I gathered he could run with anyone, anywhere at anytime.

Bobby Davis was pretty good racer too. He did race against Steve,Sammy and the Wolfgang in their primes and did pretty well, although his WoO Championship came during the WoO/USA split. So ....that one kinda don't count. Sorry. Casey Luna in though sounds good to me.

I could honestly see Mark getting in too, even though he retired early.

The Hall is not all about wins, but they don't hurt.

The older I get, the faster I used to be.

You do realize that the World of Outlaws, the Kings Royal, the Wester n World and Central PA as it has been known since the 1980's did not exist when these drivers were racing???

Oh, I forgot, the Sprint Car world starts and ends with the World of Outlaws for many people....

Danny Lasoski has a World of Outlaw championship in 2001 and 4 Knoxville Nationals titles is 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2004.

Not arguing Lasoski's inclusion - he should have been elected last year, when he was first eligible. The Outlaw championship, 4 Knoxville Nationals titles, the most wins at Knoxville and multiple Knoxville track championships more than merit his induction!

I think you mean Danny won the Nationals in 1998, 2001, 2003 & 2004. 1999 was Mark Kinser and 2002 was Steve Kinser.

HDsmoke20 and all, Sorry I confused myself (old age) concerning the NSCHoF's induction eligibility rules. Here's my understading after again reading the rules: if a person is over 50 years of age (at a specified time of the year) they are automatically age eligible for nomination. HDsmoke20 you are very correct--in addition, if a driver is not yet 50 but has not raced sprint cars in five years he or she is eligible for nomination. Can anyone accurately determine the last time Mark Kinser actually raced a sprint car? I understand NASCAR cars and/or trucks, midgets, Silver Crown cars or late models (dirt or asphalt) have no impact on the 5 year raceless period. It only pertains to "sprint cars.

I believe Mark Kinser drove for Dennis Roth in 2005.

If someone submitted him for consideration (see rules on the Hall of Fame's website), he should be elgible in 2012 (5 full years would include all of 2010, names had to be in by October to be forwarded to the voters from what I read in the rules).

You do realize that Sprint Car racing existed before the 1980's right???

I recoginze all the names, just not old enough to have seen them all race in person.

While I do think Bobby Davis, Jr. is a great driver, I am not sure he is Hall of Fame material just yet (part of that is probably due to his shortened career in the sport due to he choosing retirement while still in his early 40's).

My guess is that there are many other drivers (some younger) with the same amount of wins (coast to coast) and overall resume' that Bobby has, but you've never heard of them either (because they didn't or don't follow the World of Outlaws).

Sprint Car Racing existed well before the World of Outlaws were formed, many of those drivers from teh 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and early 70's just aren't as widely known and took FAR GREATER RISKS than drivers of the 80's, 90's and today with thier lives every time they strapped into a car (some of them actually didn't strap in, some of those era's didn't have safety belts in use).

Suppose you think NASCAR didn't exist prior to Dale Earnhardt won his first championship either huh?

I went to my first race in Sept of 61 ,eat out Smile

I know the drill but it is to bad we can't get Jean Lynch in while she can appreciate it.

She has done everything but drive one and done it for a long time.

You voters are missing a real supporter of the sport.

i agree. why hasn't Mrs. Lynch gotten in? she does more at the tracks now, than half the people there that are 1/3 her age. i grew up in the ne ohio/western pa area and saw her bust her butt doing anything and everything to help make sure races were run properly. her and her husband (and son imo) all deserve to get in the hall of fame.

Kudos to all who made the hall of fame. Although we may not all agree, at the end of the day an induction is an induction, and that is how the judges have ruled. So hold your heads high, this is something that a majority of us will never be honoured with!

Congratulations,

Jim
