As I pressed play I said to myself "I think Luhdorf gets this one" and even though the second half isn't here I'm pretty sure he did. I definitely remember who won in 1990. That one was almost as special as my first race ever - the 1981 Key.

Chris,

Are you maybe thinking of the Baylands show when the non-wing warriors came up from Ascot and

they offered a bonus for any northern guy that could beat them. Luhdorff won that one and he had

never shed the wing before! I think he got $5000 for that win . . . no doubt the biggest night of his

career.

Nope - wasn't there for that one but that was probably one of his biggest.

A teen aged Danny Olmstead - I believe he was either 18 or 19

Thanks. Why was 1990 Key so special for you?

'Ya kinda had to be there but for me it was special because I was there when Danny started racing and I was 19 at the time. The reaction of his family and crew was very genuine. There were also some other things that happened that season that made it even more sweet.

Danny was a great young talent. What is he up to?

No clue there - perhaps someone else can chime in. I know he was running a midget a few years back and even contemplated going to Belleville but something caused the plug to get pulled on that. He was involved with a spec sprint within the past 5 years too.
