From what I understand, his deal with TSR was just a temporary thing, so I don't know that the word "fired" is appropriate here......

How could tony fire him when he really never really drove for tony per say. This was a deal that tony was just helping steve kinser. If a sponsor could have been find i think it would have contiued. Just my thought.

It was reported in Justin Zoch's column that Saturday's race was his last in the car and that was the plan.

The press release that we got at Eldora read "Tony Stewart is doing a personal favor for Tim Kaeding by leanding him a car for a few weekends so that Tim could stay in the points." When Tim went out to hot lap at Eldora the Woo officals informed him the only way that he could keep his provisional was to have SKR as part of the deal. The owner has the prov not the driver. So they had to put 11k and SKR on the car for that reason. I find this to be crap as Kemenah(sp) and Tatnell both had provisional this season with new teams. But, that is the story..............

I didn't say that they didn't. The driver doesn't get the provisonal, the owner does..........read my post. Kemenah and Tatenall are with new teams that didn't run with WOO last season. therfore,as drivers should not have had provisional. Tim earned his first provisional at Tulare after running 5 events with WOO, it didn't go to Tim, it went with SKR. Not trying to start a debate, just stating a fact. So, please read the post carefully before you jump on me........
Thanks,
JoAnne

I am not taking sides here, I could care less as it does not accect me personally, but do you suppose this could be a part of the NST/WoO split situation last year? Maybe a "payback?"

Even with "new" car owners, Brooke & Chad had raced every race for 2007 (with Chad changing his car # only). With TSR the "new" car owner several races into the season I would think that allowing them to say it's a SKR car only helped Tim and whoever gets the tow money for the #20/#11K car. I guess I don't see what the problem would be getting tow money for changing your number.

From the 2007 rules:
Section 7b) All 2007 WoO Platinum Member Teams that finished in the 2006 top twenty points will start the season with 2 provisional’s. Other 2007 Platinum Members will earn 2 provisional’s after the 5th race night of 2007. On July 1, 2007, both groups will have earned an additional 2 provisional’s provided they have raced 100% of the schedule to date. The most any team can accumulate for the 2007 season is 4.
So I believe Tatnell's team has raced since the start of the season so his team is eligible for a provisional after the 5th race of the year.
Now Kemanah's old team folded and now he has a new team. I don't know if he missed any races or his new team had raced 5 races prior to Eldora??? It is the team and not the driver but in Chad's case I'm not clear. Just trying to be of help.

The only point I was trying to make originally, was that the 11k was put on the 20 car for the provisional, not the owner points.....

There shouldn't be any provisionals in any type of racing! That's why it's called racing, the object is to beat the other competitors, not get a freebie because you weren't fast enough to make the show.

I totally agree. Actually Tim hasn't used his because as he said " if I am fast enough to make, I don't belong in it."

His knees were pretty sore but, pretty good for as bad as the crash was. He is pretty lucky that he uses a good seat........

Gald to hear Tim's mom. Hopefully also he will get his own ride soon. Have been trying to contact possible sponsor for him. He's a great driver and person and all our prayers are with him for his own ride.
