$5,000 to win 305 Sprint Car Shootout - March 18-19, 2011 - Payout both days....$750 to win on the first night....$5,000 to win the second night....weekend will be run on 2 day ASCS format. More details will be out soon in regards to MidWest 305's and what the rules will be. Again, we don't want you to spend $10,00 to try and win $5,000. If you have questions please e-mail the Speedway Manager at [email protected] or call 575-524-7913.

We don't want you to spend 10 grand to win 5 grand. Ya. We want you to spend 40. Ha. Cuz that's the way the "racesaver" 305 class has become. Spend it if you got it. Its the Motto for racing.

And we really want you to spend $175-$200 entry fee to race!

If I remember right last year they had the 175.00 entry fee. No money on Friday night and no money for non transfer either night. I think they had 50 cars. Maybe now with them paying both nights and having a non transfer pay out they will get more. Who knows?

That is correct TracKing. We look forward to having a bigger and better show this year and are hoping to keep growing this race for the 305 racers.

The URSS drivers will have the same rules as last year. Your engine, the URSS wing, 1,550lbs, an you have to run the Hoosier DT-3.

Why cant the URSS cars run the same 25 sq. wing as all the other cars?

The power difference in the URSS engine and the RSCS engine. Even with the smaller wing last year they could out pull any car on the track. One of the challenges of this race in that there are so many different rules for the 305 Sprint Car we try to accommodate all and make it a fair show for anyone who comes to race.

I talked to the promoter out there today and he told me if we didn't have the Racesaver heads on the 305 we just needed to have the correct valve springs and cam lift. Then we can run but have to add 100 lbs. Big wing ok.

It's your series engine rules with the RSCS RaceSaver Cam and Valve Spring rules plus the 100 pounds.

I first want to thank everyone who has called and e-mailed about this show because it has given us some much better insight in how we are going to proceed in making it easier for everyone to compete since there are so many different rule packages.
Because of this, we are not going to make the MidWest 305 drivers change their engines to race.
We realize that this was asking a bit much. The only thing the MidWest 305 drivers will have to do is add 100lbs to their cars from our baseline minimum weight of 1, 550lbs and run the Hoosier DT-3 on the Right Rear. All other corners of the car are open as far as tires go.
If there are any more questions please contact the Speedway at 575-524-7913. You can get the entry form for the 2nd annual Southwest 305 Sprint Car Shootout at http://www.snmspeedway.com/?p=1619.

Just announced, there will be an open practice night for the 305 Sprint Car Shootout on Thursday March 17, 2011. Gates will open at 4pm with practice starting at 6:30pm. Pit Passes will be $20.
Also, a reminder for cars who run with the MidWest 305's, no engine changes are required to run. You must weigh 1,650lbs.
All URSS cars, if you want to run the standard 5x5 top wing, you must weigh 1,600lbs. If you want to run the URSS wing, you can weigh 1,550lbs.
All cars must run the Hoosier DT-3 Right Rear. All other tires are open.
