Brazier Wins Australian Sprintcar Grand Prix
Author : Tyrepower Sydney Speedway

Six-time National Champion Garry Brazier became the first Sydney driver to win the Valvoline Australian Sprintcar Grand Prix since 2001, when he took out the prestigious event at Tyrepower Sydney Speedway on Monday, December 27.

In front of a big crowd, Brazier swapped the lead several times with American NASCAR ace Tony Stewart in one of the most exciting Sprintcar races seen in years at the Sydney circuit.

Stewart regained the lead in the latter stages before Brazier forced his way to the front with only five laps remaining.

Stewart set a cracking pace in the first half of the 35 lap Grand Prix before Brazier moved into contention and challenged Stewart at the head of the field.

Defending Grand Prix Champion, US four-time titleholder Donny Schatz, made a late claim for victory and at one point reached second position as Brazier was shuffled momentarily back into third spot.

Brazier took full advantage of lapped traffic and a fast low line on the circuit to re-pass Schatz before he made the winning move on Stewart to claim a great victory over Stewart while Schatz finished third.

Mark Brown took out the Speedcar feature race over Anthony Brien and Matt Smith in third.
Brown, driving for Brendan Fox Racing, took over the lead on lap five from Scott Hill after he started deep in the pack.

Phil Jeffrey brought on the red light when he rolled in turn two on the seventh lap. Jeffrey escaped unscathed from the incident.

Meanwhile Tony Edser led from start to finish to win the AMCA Nationals feature race from Terry Pankhurst and Graham Flood.

Tony Stewart was quick to shower the Yellow Tail Sparkling Wine with Garry Brazier and Donny Schatz slow to get off the mark in the champers stakes.

Lines Wins World Series In Murray Bridge
Author : Darren ODea

STEVEN Lines repaid some of the faith to Monte Motorsport for making him their contracted driver when he won the sixth round of World Series Sprintcars at Murray Bridge Speedway on Monday night.

He started from position four and sat back in the early stages before winning the round from Kerry Madsen and Trevor Green.

“Finally…I have been wanting to do it for a long time,” Lines said.

“I can’t thank everyone enough.

“We tried something in the Dash and I just didn’t work.”

Lines, who didn’t get a chance to drive for the Monte team until the first round in Brisbane said they were just starting to settle in.

“We went backwards a little bit in Tassie…hopefully we can just get better from here.”
Madsen was second for the second night in a row.

“If we keep putting ourselves in these positions good things will happen,” the Kendrick Racing hired gun said.

He admitted he had no answer for Lines at the business end of the show.

“At the end of the day I just got my doors blown off…we will be back tomorrow night.”

Green put in a hell of a drive after admitting to being “sick as a dog with the flu”.

He started from position seven but really came on strong in the latter stages to get a much-needed podium finish.

Tatnell led early but then withdrew with a flat left rear tyre as the field regrouped when Ryan Jones spun and was collected by Jamie Cobby and involved Cameron Gessner who had crushed headers on the right hand side.

Madsen led on the restart while one of the big movers was Perth’s Kris Coyle who raced up from 15th to about as high as eighth before ultimately finishing 12th.

Lines got stronger as the race went on and after running on the back of Madsen was involved in some lead swapping for a couple of laps before breaking away in his own right.

Green got into third by rounding up Farr and Murcott in the latter stages.

Murcott held on for fourth from Farr, American Jason Johnson (who started from 13th), Matt Egel (who started out of 16th), Grant Anderson, Daniel Pestka (who celebrated his 19th birthday on the day) and national champion James McFadden who started out of 18th.

Max Dumesny was another big mover, winning the C Main and finishing sixth in the B Main to just make the cut to the 35-lap main event where he finished 11th.

Murcott was in solid form by setting quick time at the start of the show with an impressive 11.055-second lap to down Kerry Madsen’s 11.151 and Cobby’s 11.298.

Coyle won the B Main from Egel, Luke Dillon, McFadden, Ian Madsen and Dumesny,
Andrew Wright big crash at the start of the 15-lapper.

“Yeah mate, we are fine…just one of them deals,” Wright said from the infield.

“It is just part of the sport…it was up there for a while and we were waiting for it to stop.

“We will throw a bit of gear at it and have another run tomorrow night.”

Round seven of the series is at Mt Gambier on Tuesday night.

Anyone have video of the race Brazier won? Also what happened to Tyler Walker at Murray Bridge? Looks like he's carried over some of his bad luck he had this year.

Read the story on Sprintcar World about the Sidney race. I didn't realize that you could bet the drivers as we can bet the horses in the U.S. I would imagine that includes the V-8 Supercars, Superbikes, and other forms of motorsports?????

Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.
