Unfortunately, we have lost Chet Gardner. 24 years old. There are no words to say. Please keep his family in your prayers.

So sorry to read that earlier today.
My favorite memory of Chet involved him and Ronnie walking up to the ticket window at Ventura Raceway. They came up to me and said, "Hey Mister, can you pretend to be our dad so we could get into the races tonight?"
They were about 7-10 years old at the at the time.
Even though Chet probably didn't know me by name i always admired the kid. He was always a gentleman and i honestly can say that i never heard anything negative about him which in this days youth generation is a miracle!
I know that racing lost a great embassador to the sport and his smile will be missed by everyone that knew him.
What a devastating loss to his friends, family and those that had just had the pleasure to meet him!
Sincerely,
A Tearful Joe

Just does not make any sense at all .. I sit here with a heavy heart and ask God why ? Why so young ?
R.I.P. Chet you will be missed by many . I just want the Gardner family to know that my prayers are with them and I'm truly sorry for your loss .....

Such a tragic loss - Chet always such a pleasure to be around - always smiling, that kid. It is so hard to comprehend, why, so young?
To the Gardner family, we send our prayers and our deepest sympathy for their loss.
With the angels Chet, we will miss you

Unbeliveable..... One of the neatest young men we have met in racing. It just isn't right. Our hearts also goes out to the Gardner family The Cardeys.

So sad to hear. I spent my childhood growing up around Chet and Ronnie, watching from the grandstands. Chet was one of the nicest guys in the pits, and will be missed by all. I speak on behalf of my family in sending our prayers and condolences to the entire Gardner family. We miss you buddy!
Godspeed Chet!

The Gardner Family wants to thank everyone for the kind words, thoughts, prayers. We are all very thankful for all of the memories people have shared with us.
For those who are wondering about a service. A Memorial is being planned. We don't have any other information at this time but when plans are made and a place chosen, we will let everyone know.
Thank you all,
The Gardner Family.
RIP Chet and Mark. You might be gone but never will
be forgotten.
