For a live video update from Shane, click on the below link.... then click on the video in the Facebook section of the page;
Several months ago, Shane Hmiel was involved in a devistating crash in a USAC Silver Crown car. Hmiel was critically injured in the crash, but has fought through many surgeries and is in a rehabilitation center in Atlanta on his road to recovery. The crew from the TV show Three Wide Life caught up with Shane and post...ed this video on his Facebook page. On behalf of all of us at Speed51.com, keep getting better.

Just watched the video. Tough seeing a young man in a chair like that. He says he isn't mad etc. but you can hear it in his voice. Keep working hard young man, keep your head up, and work hard. You've go a hard road ahead of you. You beat the other, now you CAN beat this too. Good luck.

Definitely.
You will not hear any criticisms out of me anymore about Shane Hmiel.
Get with it Shane, the racing world needs you back. From what I have seen behind the curtain, here and there, your time as a real hero, is nowhere close to being finished.
I'll avoid the 'warm-fuzzies', but I am serious. Stay with it.

Shane wasn't one of my favorite drivers in Nascar. I thought he was very cocky for a young kid, but maybe you have to be to be successful, you have to know you're damned good, whatever, I just didn't like him. When he started driving sprints and midgets and silver crown cars, I really started admiring him. He had no experience on dirt at all, zero, and yet he turned himself into a top 5 threat on dirt every night out after the first year or so. He instantly became my favorite driver in USAC. Hope he gets back sometime. Get well Shane.
Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

That's pretty much my view too. Didn't much care for him when he come on the scene in NASCAR. I'm picking up that young Mr. Hmiel has a chance to come out of this like a legitamate Phoenix bird.
Time will tell............
