The new ASCS Southern California Region, winged 360 sprint cars. Was announced just a few days ago. They'll be racing Tulare & Hanford mostly. Santa Maria and Bakersfield likely to host events as well...

I couldn't agree more....I live here in Santa Maria and we do NOT call ourselves So-Cal. We are North of that god forsaken land called L.A. or So-Cal as they like to call it.
Trophy Cup......Best race of the year hands down!

There is no clearly defined border between Northern California and the other California. I have read that the southern border of Monterey, Kings, Tulare, and Inyo counties is considered the dividing line between the two. Those counties do create a straight borderline.
But, where lies Central California? By most definitions, Tulare and Hanford are in Central California, which is considered a portion of Northern California. Seems to me the logical conclusion is to finally create two states and put a 51st star on the flag.

What happened to the USAC 360 series? Is that done and ASCS replaces it? Is this good or bad for the new King of West Sprints 410's??

The USAC 360's are still thier own deal. Though it appears the schedule release is on hold until Tommy has the presentation tomorrow regarding the Western Classic series. The only thing that changed is that the Central California tracks look to have aligned through ASCS to hopefully rebuild the wing 360s count.
I doubt 410s see any fallout from this. Just my take, hope it helps.
Geez, I had fun.

I will be sure to inform my movie star neighbors of what a god forsaken place we live in down here, and if they are seeking the good life Santa Maria is the place. LOL
I plan on going to the KIW shows at Santa Maria, Hanford and Tulare. I agree Trophy Cup was the best show of the year. Santa Maria is a great track and would go up there for the 360 wings. Watsonville has it's own 360 wing group, so I think a 360 wing group for SM, Tulare and Hanford is a good idea.
Stopped by Naylor's office, promotor at Ventura, on Saturday and he is forming a midget group to be called VRA midgets. No more USAC midget shows at Ventura, as a matter of fact no more USAC at Ventura. He is tired of sending the money back to the USAC in Indianapolis, which means his midgets at Ventura will get bigger purses. His VRA sprint cars are very successful and usually draw over 30 cars a nite, over 50 when the seniors are on the program. I expect the VRA midgets will be just as successful. So if you like midgets come on down to "The Best Little Dirt Track in America".

Well...ASCS only wants two regions in California. With the North a little ways off from Sanctioning Hanford and Tulare are technically south of the states dividing line. I always considered myself CenCal...
We are hoping to build this series up so 360 Wing sprint cars as a whole can grow around us. There are a lot of cars in our area that haven't had a home to run at...Now they do.

That officially makes Naylor even smarter than I already thought he was.
