Don't know how taboo talking about nascar is here but watched Sunday nite's Speed Report and heard this about Danica Patrick's Nascar year: "success didn't come quickly for her and her numbers weren't fantastic but Danica will once again run a limited schedule in the Nationwide Series".

success didn't come quickly? but it did come? When?

her numbers weren't fantastic? what, average, regular top twenty, regular top ten?

She is driving one of the best 7 or 8 cars in the field with one of the best crews available, out of the Hendrick shop, and I'd be surprised if she averaged 25th. And she has tested as much as any Nationwide driver who runs a fulltime schedule. Just proves, you don't have to be talented if you're a woman with good PR. She's not even the best female Indy Car driver as that title belongs to the young Swiss star Simona de Silvestro.

Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

Danica was projected to bring in $30 million in apparel and diecast sales in Nascar.Danica was number 1 leaving Daytona.

With VERY few exceptions her Indy Car stats in 2010 weren't worth a shit either.

I'm assuming that your first year in a Nationwide car would bring much better results that Danica, right? Yeah, right....

There have been a lot of drivers who moved up to Nationwide and struggled for a few years... I'd prefer to review her results after a few years and then pass judgement.....but, if you're a hater.....

Here's my point of comparison; you've been driving asphalt late models for your entire career, and then decide to go winged dirt sprint car racing; just how good do you think that you'd do in your first couple of years?

Chuck.....

Ancient Chinese proverb says, beauty and a vagina trumps talent and a ballsack. Lets face it if she couldn`t push product with her looks she would have been down the road a long time ago. Janet Guthrie didnt look like her and got nowhere comparably. Its a shame for us all, competitors and fans alike.

Danica is overrated. Sarah Fisher was a much better driver, but never had the money behind her. That is what sex appeal does... gets more sponsors. If Danica looked like Sarah Fisher, and Sarah Fisher looked like Danica, then nobody would have ever heard of Danica Patrick, and would instead be talking about Sarah Fisher.

Difference being, though, that if you or I, or whoever decided that we were going to make the transistion to a bigger, more popular market, we wouldn't be sucked off by the media for 18 months before we went out and looked like choke artists.

I have no problem with women racing. When I ran asphalt at I-70 there was a very pretty young lady that moved up through the ranks with me and she would whip pretty much everyone in her class before moving onto a touring ride. A lot of people had negative things to say about her. All men. I respected her for being a gasser and a points champion. The difference between her and someone like Danica is that she didn't wear skimpy outfits and try to use her looks to help her out. Even though in my opinion she certainly could have. I personally have no respect for Danica mainly because of her trampy photo shoots and such. Don't get me wrong I have no problem looking at them but, don't ask for treatment equal to the men you race against and then do the things you do.

Sarah's the real deal alright. This year she's not going to drive, but concentrate on her Indy car team. She's managed to field a car these past years with just plain old hard work and determination, and she demands respect for that guy's.

P. S. I'll take a real woman over that stick girl Danica anyday!

Are you talking about Jennifer Jo Cobb, who's now in the NASCAR Truck Series?

This is the exact reason why, being a girl, I don't like Danica. She says that she just wants to be taken seriously as a racecar driver, not as a girl racecar driver, then poses for FHM, Maxim and Sport Illustrated Swimsuit Issue...quite hypocriticial if you ask me. And don't even get me started on those Go Daddy commercials.

As for Sarah Fisher, absolutely love her, because she is a girl racecar driver that acts like a racecar driver. Can't wait to see how well she does as an IndyCar owner next year.

And of course I can't forget to mention Natalie Sather, she's working her way up the NASCAR ladder on her abilities not her looks. She could definitely give Danica a run for her money in the looks department, but doesn't.

I don't watch of the napcar stuff anyway, but Danica is pretty fun to watch. I also remember the first time Sarah Fisher was at Knoxville, she didn't look that good then, but she could flat out drive the wheels off a racecar. With that said, I will have to agree with BIGFISH.

So she shouldn't attract new fans and sponsors? How is posing for those magazines a bad thing? Dale Jr. is on every other commercial and does not win races either. Go Daddy is her main sponsor so I am sure she will do whatever they request her to do, as would any of us in her shoes.

That really wasn't the point I was making...Has Dale Jr ever posed half naked in Playgirl, I'm pretty sure that answer is no. Why should Danica get by and move up the NASCAR ladder because of her looks when a guy driver has to get by on his talent (in some cases lack of)? And if she's going to pull the girl racecar driver, then go for it but to be hypocritical about it, that's not right. That was my point.

To make this point more clear to some that don't get it in the hope that they will start to get it. If you start to say that it's OK for Danica to use every thing she's got to keep her ass in a car then you have to start asking why she's in the car. If it's because of the money that the shit she does brings to the table then her ass is in a car for the same reason as Milka Duno: MONEY. Now we all know that Milka can't drive a straight stick up a goat's ass but let's face it: the ONLY reason her ass EVER sat in an indy car is because of the money. Danica has talent and it shows every now and then but - seriously - if you were her car owner would you keep her in your car if it weren't for the money she brings to the table? Check the final points and stats from the IRL this year. Her ass didn't even make the top 12 "Newsmakers of 2010" on the Speed Report yet they still found a reason to mention her. Until she starts producing the kind of stats that the money and commitment behind her should produce her apparel / novelty sales mean dick to me. And to have to worry about getting fired for viewing this thread because of the picture posted above that really says it all for me. I'd pay to see her naked (especially if she kept her mouth shut) while I wouldn't Dale Jr. but the POINT is that MOST of us pay to see our racecar drivers RACE and preferably win.
