I was curious as to everyone's thoughts on the head & neck restraints on the market now. Which is the more favored device? The Hans or the Defender or others? Does any one device seem to work better with a specific seat more so than others? Obviously the Butler and the Defender will work together well. I am ordering a Butler Advantage Sprint seat and a Hans Quick Click w/ sliding tethers in a 10 deg. Does anyone run a 20 deg. layback device? I went with the Hans truthfully because of the name. If it's good enough for guys like Jimmie Johnson and Joey Saldana it's good enough for me. I read some where that the Defender is adjustable for different degree laybacks? If so that is a really neat feature for someone that might drive different types of cars like from a Sprint Car to a Modified.

I did not have the usual month of not turning my head after this one. Limp yes, neck pain no.

Ive used the Defnder for a couple seasons now, ive tried destroy my car three times now (although one chassis didnrt survive) Ive walked away from all three wrecks with no neck pain, with the full containment seat and neck brace I feel im doing my part prepareing for the worst , the Defnder is moveable so driver taste , (layback), can be moved a little bit , with little attention to the seat belt clips I had to do some custom work for them to slide off easier in the act of exiting the car , Im a typical framed guy and it fits me well (5-11 175 lbs) , the price and features attracted me to its purchase over the Hans .

Joey will be forced to wear one next season (2011) as the WRG brass has mandated that all platinum card members will be required to wear some sort of head and neck restraint system, and went further by mandating that all competitors at all WRG events in 2012 will be required to wear the devices in competition.
