A prominent executive in the motorsports and racing industry has been arrested and charged with carrying a loaded gun into the security checkpoint at Indianapolis International Airport.
Christopher B. Paulsen, 51, Indianapolis, who is a founder of the International Motorsports Industry Show that drew a large convention crowd to the city last week, was stopped with a gun in his carry-on bag about 4 p.m. Monday by TSA security agents.
Paulsen was then arrested by airport police, charged with carrying a weapon into an airport control area and booked into the Marion County Jail.
He could not be reached for comment about the incident today, however his wife Debra said, "our attorney has told us not to talk about it."
According to the airport police report, Paulsen said when he was stopped at the checkpoint for Concourse B that he had forgotten that the .38 caliber semi-automatic Keltec pistol was in his carry-on bag.
TSA agents saw the loaded gun as his bag passed through an X-ray machine.
Paulsen is president and owner of C & R Racing based in Indianapolis.
A former race car driver and Indy car mechanic, he is a member of the Indianapolis 500 Hall of Fame nominating committee.

Bet Bernie Ecclestone wished he'd paid the fine for illegally carrying ANY gun as a private citizen in England (even stun guns) vs. being about £200,000 poorer in bling.

As someone who used to be permitted to carry in the past (also in Indiana), I can say first hand that I ALWAYS knew where my piece was. It's not like having one stashed somewhere in your home or place of business. When you have a weapon on your person (carrying on your body, in luggage, in your vehicle, etc) it's something you just don't forget about. Ever.

After the past two years in Brazil, I think Bernie might supply all F1 drivers and crewmen with handguns. I mean when F1 drivers in bullet proof cars, on their way to the track, are getting boxed in by cars with people jumping out carrying sub-machine guns, hey, I'd carry one, damned be the law.

Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.
