Well it looks like the Track Alliance - Orlando, New Symrna, Lake City,
Inverness, Aubudale, Punta Gorda and Desoto have killed collectively
asphalt sprint car racing in Florida. What they have said is they will pay
the sprint cars $4500 and the club have to cover the balance. This would
provide $335.00 to the winner. $4500 is nothing as they will cover that
just in collecting the $35.00 pit pass per person from the teams with just 128 people.
Also it was reported that USCS has cancelled ASPHALT sprint car racing
for 2011. Lets congradulate the TBARA and its drivers by agreeing not to
race SPEEDWEEKS at Inverness, New Symrna and Desoto in Feb 2011
and sticking together. Sprint cars will race at New Symrna and get the full
purse because the late model race is renting the track and has added TBARA
sprinters as a support race. On the otherhand the dirt sprintcars are doing
well and getting the right purse. Expect the dirt sprinters at East Bay and
Volusia..
