I saw another post on wingless sprint cars, but in my mind the best sprint car was this one and the most exciting track was San Jose, Ca and "Ringo" was a driver that I can't get out of my mind even today. I was about 5 years old and will never forget. That was the most impressive moment in my life. If I could go back in time and bring my best friends to the track, I would take them to San Jose and see Ringo in his blue car. That was the most memorable moment in my life. All I remember was this beautiful blue car that seemed to be chromed all over. He jumped on the gas spun it 180 in one direction, then spun it 180 in the other direction and then kept going. I was so impressed, the cars were so loud and the speeds incredible.

San Jose Speeway was the best track ever made in my mind.

Sincerely,

Larry Otani

During one of our many trips to Cal., went to the asphalt track at San Jose one night. It was a makeup for a rain out during the week and Nick Resino went out to qual. and did 2 360's in turn one to warm up tires. Then set quick time. Those old San Jose modifieds were some wild cars.

Thanks for posting Troy's latest super? I went searching for Super's and came upon one of the last Super's I had personally seen. Don't go to the races much. Both your's and this following picture seem to have come from the same sight. But Troys last super is the one I saw personally at Merced where I got to meet the owner and also got to see Troy. He seems different now.

Don't know where's Llyods hauler is or what it looks like. Not with the post but I also thought the following car was one of the best race cars ever built. I'm different..lol! and thanks for the posts. I appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Larry Otani

P.S. The following race car is one of the best ever built.

Even better were the dirt supers that raced at West Capital in Sacramento. The limited Dirt Supers up in the foothills at Hangtown and Ernie Purcell Speedways were pretty great, too.

Bruce,

That is not true. "California Flash" pays for most of his parts...lol! I have this idea deep inside of me. Whoever crashes the car pays for the parts..lol! So, I'm a little reluctant to pay for parts I did not break.

But I do think we are goin' to rent the track and take the midgets out for some practice.

I hope I can make that practice. And help me out. Where is that picture I'm looking for of Nick Ringo or Nick Recino in that blue car. It may be the one pictured, but I'm not sure. I was only about 5 years old.

Sincerely,

Larry Otani

P.S. The year, I thought was about 1963. It was blue metal flake and everything was chromed. It was brand new and beautiful It was the one he spun in practice and later won the main event. But somehow I may of got the years mixed up, maybe I saw a car later in 1973 that reminded of Nick in 1963. That's what happens when you get old, you forget and get things all mixed up!

I like this photo you made from your website. I always liked Baylands. I thought it was beautiful!
