For pictures, recap & video of the opening night of the 4th annual Cowtown Speedway November Sprint Shootout presented by www.CityVending.net and www.ShopTheBOSS.com please click:

http://sportsblogs.star-telegram.com/motorsports/2010/11/gary-taylor-sprint-shootout-winner-at-cowtown-speedway.html

And special thanks to Don Cook of the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram for providing this service!

With the cold front that blew threw right before the races started, it dropped the temperature nearly 30 degrees and winds were up to 20mph, but the fans that braved the elements saw a night full of incredible racing action with tons of passing, slide jobs, lead changes and a few scary looking wrecks...but all drivers were reported OK.

Over 150 cars were in the pits, including 47 sprint cars, but the sprint car A-feature was on the track at 10:10pm, so fans that wanted to see them were able to get in a full night of racing without having to stay outside in the elements.

DON'T MISS TONIGHTS BIG FINALE! A complete show for the ASCS Sprint Cars finished off with a 35 lap, 24 car feature event. All the ASCS2 classes will run last chance features and features (no heats). The Limited Modifieds will run a complete show as well.

Today's weather is supposed to be MUCH nicer, with clear, sunny, CALM conditions, with highs in the 60's.

SATURDAY, NOV. 13th - LTD MOD RACE NIGHT & ASCS SERIES NSS CHAMPIONSHIPS, Pits open at 4pm, Hot Laps at 5:45 (but be ready for them to possibly start sooner), Races at 6:30. Pit passes are $35 and there is a $25 registration fee for the Limited Modifieds. Grandstand admission: Kids 3-5 are $2, Youth 6-11 are $5 and ages 12 and up are $25.

And now a couple hundred really good pictures are posted at the same link above, if you'd like to check them out.

I found a picture of some of the slide-jobbin', wheel bangin' action in the heats last night, this pic of Eric Baldaccini and Justin Sturch:

Lots and lots of passing points last night. One heat winner started fourth, two heat winners started 6th and one heat winner started 9th - and had the lead at the end of lap 1; it was nuts!
