I was honored that you selected me.

We look forward to having Pushin' back to Cowtown whenever you're available; it's a great service to sprint car fans that you guys provide.

Darin, you forgot to mention that the Spirit Lake Bakery had "the" best glazed donuts in Northwest Iowa. God I miss that place. I am proud to say that I have helped carry on the tradition of University Of Okoboji Night at the Jackson Speedway. It is once again in the top 3 events at the Jackson Speedway. It's lots of hard work, but it's worth it when you see the big car counts and full grandstands.

Not sure if you heard that Joel Taylor (your parents sponsored him back in the late 70's) was inducted into the Jackson Speedway Hall Of Fame this past summer.

Would love to have you come back some summer for Okoboji Night. Feel free to send me a message.

Thanks,

Brandon Schuette

Hey Brandon,

Thanks for the message.

I could add about 50 more items to your list from The Bakery that I miss - but none of us family members miss the 7-day-a-week hours. The only time of the week there wasn't an employee on the clock was from 3pm Sunday to 7pm Sunday...so it was pretty grueling on all of us.

Ya, the whole deal with Joel was really sad, but I'm glad he's being properly remembered with the HoF. My mom still gets a letter from his mom every few years. I think his dad Glenn passed away 5 or so years ago.

When I make it back to Jackson, I'll make sure to let you know. I still keep in touch with Barb Wieskus and her daughter Sara.

I'm glad to see Jon really trying to do his best to bring the track back to the level it once was. I read his posts and I like what he's doing to keep things perked up.

In a world without economics, it would be fun to have some sort of 2-track series between Jackson and Cowtown, where a group of drivers would go invade the other track once or twice a year. Both tracks have really good drivers and I'd like to see them mix it up on the two very different race tracks.

Well, assuming we can sneak through this front moving through tomorrow afternoon (40% chance of t-storms between 2-7pm), we're going to have a really good weekend of racing at Cowtown with the November Sprint Shootout...47 sprints already entered and confirmed for the two-day race. Add to it a full field of ASCS2 teams and midgets, it will make for a fitting end to the season.

If any of you ever venture down here, make sure to look me up...you'll really enjoy the racing at Cowtown, lots of 'in your face' action on the 1/4 mile high banks!
