Those non wing guys sure beat the crap out of each other! That's the most banging in sprint cars I have seen in years.

This is not an attack on non-wing racing at all, but a lot of the people chiming in and giving their two cents worth in the Swindell incident was also because there are a ton more winged racing fans on this board than non-wing fans.

True, and in fact there were times when I first got on this form that my non wing contributions were not appreciated, and it was inferred this was a winged forum exclusively.

For me I enjoyed and got a big kick out of seeing Sammy up on his car taking a bow, and getting a huge round of applause at the Nationals. I go back to the beginning with Sammy, and I've always liked to watch him race, though for some time now I've not paid much attention to personalities off the track, but instead how they race, and conduct themselves on it. Like many, I'd hoped that Sammy could continue showing some class on the track, but sadly, it didn't last long, and I think some of what came out was disappointment... Em I a Sammy fan? Alway's have been, but that doesn't mean I have to like the way he conducts himself on the track, or the way he's attacked people on or at the track when it was Kevin's deal, not his.

Kenny this year he has raced mostly winged stuff out here in California, but i do agree that he's a non-wing ace though. His biggest wins have been in a non-wing car outside of the Johnny Key Classic and probably the wing race at Calistoga. Either way i'm happy races both.

Trophy Cup......Best race of the year hands down!

There are more than a few of us who would like to take away that comfort zone, the big side nerf bar with a smaller one, but the truth is most of the tracks are smaller than they used to be, and smaller tracks means more contact. Perri's is a small 1/2 mile, and they run it hard, and at times with bravado instead of skill.. You would never see them lean on each other like that at Manzy, the consequences were to high.

All right... my point is being missed.... the BIG $ is tonight... Levi did not have to win that race...

he would have won the battle (the high points) with a second or third even....

but then to fix the tire and go back out ..... he could have gone to the back and picked up

some spots... he was fast!.... but to try to take out the leader what kind of bs.... is that...

very unprofessional... and STUPID...... I wonder what the boss had to say about it???

btw... Bud raced mostly winged cars.... except for the Silver Crown stuff...

Graet Job NORCAL guys.... Damion, Bud and Kyle Larson!

True, he's been running with GSc, but bud has had all his big wins in non wing stuff, and that's where he, unlike Tim, excells. All the good one's can run both, and he will at the Western World in two weeks, so that's not really a issue.

No doubt that wasn't the smartest thing he's ever done, and it was out of character. The Demon has a way of pissing people off though, and I'm sure it's been building up. Damion is lucky to have come along when Richard Griffin had mellowed out, or he'd still be pulling splinters out of his a##.

I have no idea why that came out red, but I'm tired of trying to fix it.

True biggest wins in non-wing and Silver Crown Championships....

but Bud has BIG TIME stepped up his winged racing...

He blew Tim's doors at Calistoga in a GSC race...

and a much better Gold Cup... Bud was kind of average in a winged 360/410...

but this year he was a threat to win every race he was in...

It is very nice to see racers race all kinds of race cars....

(see Jesse Hockett... God Rest his Soul)

The Gas Man... what about McSpadden... you don't wreck cars...

you kick ass in the pits... with fists... not your moneymaker ...

your car.

Lealand always ran to win, not for points, and I was lucky to have watched both him and Richard on my then home track Manzy, many many times. And yes, Richard started out in a winged car.. My point was that when Damion came along it was at Perri's, and Richard had mellowed and was running for another championship at that point in his career, but he did express a strong desire not to lift, and put Damion in the wall because of his reckless slide jobs and driving style, and said so!

No he didn't, but history has shown us that most of the really good one's want to win them all, and Levi could become, or maybe he already is, one of "the really good one's".

One thing I did notice on Levi's car last night, was the distinctive front "bumper"he uses.It sure doesn't look like the standard nerf bar every other team is running. It's like that for a reason I assume.

Here's pictures of most of the front nurf bars. Now you tell me what's "standard"!... There's is a big variety to be sure, so of couse it doesn't look like "every other team"....http://robhargraves.smugmug.com/Sports/Oval-Nationals-Perris/14522857_NqiWb#1078751925_CioSr some are very close, but the paint etc on some of them makes it so they don't stand out as much. You can't be saying Jones is a dirty driver now, can you.LOL

Since Bud began his sprint car career in winged cars, I was kidding in reference to the "winged warriors take note" comment.

Bud is a racer. Period.

There's no doubt his biggest wins have come in the non wing ranks. However, as Chico Cherokee said, Bud is a threat to win every night.

His rookie year in 360 sprints at San Jose Speedway, he won the two biggest races of the season, the Johnny Key Memorial Race, and the Lloyd Beard Memorial race on his way to winning the track championship. Something no rookie had done before. He followed that up by winning NARC Rookie of the Year the next season.

Sprints (win & non wing) Silver Crown, midgets dirt, pavement ( he was a USAC W/S sprint champion when they ran exclusively on pavement) Bud is a winner.

I'm sure my friend Sean won't mind me telling you that he was referring to the post's about the incident, and not about the drivers involved. I mean really, it's as plane as day..Wow, very mature, intelligent comments made about a racing incident. Put fans in there with winged warrior part if that will make it clearer for ya.

Thanks for the support Kenny, That's what I was saying. And when someone says Bud Kaeding, I think non-wing sprints, Champ car champ. I always thought his winged deal was secondary to his non-wing deal.

Pat: Robert Ballou was the first guy to use one of those "Cow Catcher" bumpers two years ago, at least in the wingless ranks. They were a little topic of discussion and controversy that year.
