Repost of press release by Brian Postma:
Car owner, team leader, avid sprint car enthusiast
Loren Barstad passed away Sunday October 31st. Here Loren (on
left) accepts the Jackson Speedway 2010 season championship trophy
with driver Casey Heser. Loren will be greatly missed in the sprint car
world. He was a warm hearted, happy go lucky guy, who was a friend to
everyone. Rest in peace Loren.

I don't even know where to start. Loren was one of a kind, one of the true good guys. When he came on board with us he turned our team from a good team to a championship team. Without his wisdom and love for racing we would not have accomplished what we did this season. Our whole team learned so much from Loren in our one season together that I can't explain. His desire to win was great but you had to have fun also. I'm going to miss our sampling of all the food we were going to eat at the shop after the races each Saturday, we had to make sure it was ok for everyone It's hard to believe that just one week ago we were celebrating the championship at the banquet and now we are without our heart and soul of our team. Rest in Peace Big Guy, I know you are going to guide me next season to make the right calls so we can continue what you created.
