Big article yesterday in the FRESNO BEElogna about a 365 acre racing comples adjacent to the farm expo property in Tulare. Involves Ken Clapp who use to run things "out here" for Francecar. (don't know if he still does.)
Track will be 1.25 mile d-shaped and they say a drag strip will be added to bring in the NHRA.
Not one word abou dirt.
Something to keep an eye on...especially since they mentioned the "drag strip" would open in 2012.

People I talked to during the TC (locals in the know) say it's not gonna fly. Somehow Dave Swindell got his fingers in there and while Ken Clapp has a great reputation the fact that the swindler is involved should give anyone cause for pause.

I recall Clapp's name a couple of times but don't recall anything about Swindle.

I don't see HOW it can fly. It would have to draw from LA and SF to even think about getting off the ground. And with 8 Cup, IRL and NHRA events in those markets plus the 3 or 4 in Vegas, I don't see enough of those fans spending any coin to come the valley.
File this with Yuba City, Madera and Boardman.
Geez, I had fun.

my uncles a tulare firefighter trainee and he said that they "had " propossed a few year ago like 02 or something last time i went to the cup was that nascar nhra and WOo was building some sanctions down there to race at not sure of any new updates

It'd be nice, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Remember when there was supposed to be the huge motorplex near Marysville? Naiveté got the best of me there.
