High winds were the culprit. Everyone is o.k.
If this post isn't results, stories or something c

Bill W....you seem to be the most reliable on this so can you talk with him and provide the "nitty-gritty" as to all the damage?
thanx,
leon
A rough way to miss a race. Feel badly for this driver.

I/B.....couple of things.
I don't do facebook so I have no idea about the info.
Bill W. always seems to have a "direct connect" with most of these guys.
Hope I didn't ruffle your feathers too much. It was not meant to "undermine you" in any way.
thanx,
leon

The Heskin's are one of the most down to earth racing families in the entire sport. I have a running joke with Davey about being lazy but I know better. This kid is a racer to the bone and they'll bounce back from this in no time. Knoxville weekly racing will be in fine form for years to come because of racer's like the Heskin"s.

It would be nice if one of the well funded teams would supply a car for Davey!

Dan S. came over to my shop today.
It was himself, Dave, Butch and the driver on there way to the race.
The wind snapped the trailer right off the truck, no one hurt.
Trailer tipped on it's side and threw alot of parts and tool's around.
But..... they had the car strapped down very well and no damage to car.
Trailer is shot.
It's to bad it would of been good see dave go at it.
Dan told me they had there 410 in trailer, they may of headed to NC if they did well.

I stopped by the shop this afternoon and talked to Butch and Davey. Butch says the trailer took out quite a bit of guard rail when it tipped. Wind blew it and snapped the kingpin off the trailer (it's still in the fifth wheel). One tire damaged on the tractor. They pulled everything out of the trailer and brought it home yesterday. Some damage to one wing (minor) and one tool box destroyed, otherwise, does not appear to be any equipment lost or damaged. Davey said they were going on to Charlotte if they did well, but also said that their 410 was getting pretty tired.
Butch said there were three other trailers blown off the road in that area that night. I know the wind here in the Twin Cities was as bad as I've seen it in the thirty five years I've lived here.Wind gusts were in excess of 60 mph.

good to hear not alot (terrible amount) of the equipment got destroyed, I would only assume the contents of the trailer are not insured (as) this is a racecar, if it were a bike or classic car would the insurance claim be filed under the vehicals policy in transit?in tow ? such as comp? im no insurance salesman , I just know ive spent a bundle on the stuff, lol , good thing is the trailer should be replaced or pro rated towards another rig , im sure the insurance will put up a fight seems they always do ..

Sometimes, the car insurance will cover whatever is connected or inside a vehicle that has been wrecked. I know of some trailers(and contents) that are covered when connected to the tow vehicle, but not covered when unhooked. Also, when unhooked and sitting on your property, if anything happens, it is sometimes covered under home owners insurance.
It all depends on how good the insurance is and how well the agent did his/her job.

That's terrible to hear. Heskin is a good clean racer, and always competitive at Knoxville when I'm there. I'll never forget the 50th Nationals when he finished 8th in that stacked field of cars!! I sure hope the insurance covers all and more.
