not to beat a dead horse, but why wasn't the legions of Ascot run this week instead of last when there were conflicts?

The PAS had their schedule for this race since Nov. '09. Everywhere else made the conflict what it was.

Amen...truly a lost opportunity. I'm sure there have to be reasons that led to the promoters piling all three (3) big shows onto last Saturday, splitting up all the cars, drivers, and fans, just to have us all sit at home this weekend with nothing to spend our money on. However, from the outside looking in it is very frustrating and doesn't make any sense. I would have loved to watch the match races and celebrate the Legends of Ascot this weekend...and I'm sure guys like Darland, Faas, Stanbrough and Bernal wouldn't mind the opportunity to get some laps in with both series. Plus, it was always fun to attend the races on Halloween weekend to see a few hardcore fans show up in costumes (in addition to those that scare us every week without costumes...lol)...and the kids always looked forward to the extra candy from the drivers on this weekend. Guess its yardwork, then Napcar!

Actually it's quite simple Rob. Most of the teams need the week off to be able to get ready to go. The cars start rolling in at Sunrise Wednesday and some will even be pulling in on Tuesday Night. Look at what happened to Jones and Bragg! They most likely wouldn't be able to get ready and get what they need by then if what this weekend. The teams need the time to prep and make sure they have everything they need for three nights of racing.

Rob, The PAS 2010 Sprint Car schedule including the October 23rd date was released on November 29th, 2009. The real question should be, is why didn't Ventura schedule last week's race for this Saturday? Afterall, VRA is racing this weekend and USAC/CRA is not. If they had done that, it would have worked out for drivers and FANS. The exact same thing happened to the Jack Kindoll Classic two years ago and a couple years or so before that, they scheduled a Midget race against the Oval Nationals.

Rob I understand what you are saying and you are right, everybody (fans, racers and promoters) lost last Saturday night. I am just saying what I think the real question should be.

We shouldn't have been scheduled against the PAS or Tulare and I regret it. All Coast Construction will be working hard next year to avoid this problem. My apologies and a promise to the fans to get it right next time.

Wag's country has over 100 pro cars this weekend for the NHRA in Vegas. 27 Top Fuel, 21 Funny Car, 27 Pro Stock , 23 Pro Stock Bikes and top that off with Pro Mod's. Would have liked to see both sprint shows last weekend but over 100 Pro cars in Vegas will be GREAT Plus Midgets on the 1/3 after the Drag's. Nice race filler before the Oval's.

Ventura is still running this Saturday with Sprints.

I can see why PAS didn't want a big race a week before the Ovals, but I have seen races scheduled at Ventura a week before the Ovals.

I would think most teams could prepare for a race in 3 to 4 days. Most teams could build a car in a day if they had too. And most teams probably have backup cars anyway. But an extra week is nice to prepare everything and allows the teams to be fresh for 3 nights of racing.

And PAS could easily adjust their schedule. In fact they just did it by cancelling the midgets for the last night. But Ventura and Tulare could also have changed their schedule too. No one and everyone is at fault for the scheduling goof.

Maybe next year (or this year to be direct), Naylor, Kazarian, and the Faria can talk too each other and not schedule BIG races against each other in the future. It would be in their best interest.

This week might have been bad for the All Coast Construction Race too, as their is a midget race in Vegas and Kruseman is trying to win the title.

On the good side, it looked like all 3 race tracks had great races! And we still have a few more nights of great racing left in the season.

PS Could it be possible for ALL the NIGHTS of All Coast Construction sereis to not conflict with CRA (or even USAC 360) races. Since CRA only runs about 2 weekends a month, I'm sure this could be accomplished. I am sure several drivers would love to run the 3 race series including Kruseman, Fass, and potentially Spencer, Mitchell, and even Cardey.
