Really looking forward to this Trophy Cup. It's hard to believe that I've been to all of them but this year will be different. For the first time I will get to enjoy it as a fan as I have - in all of the previous 16 events - been either "calendarguy" or a photographer. I enjoyed those roles but I'm ready to enjoy it this way. Things I will be doing:

Relaxing during the day and probably having a beer or two

Getting caught up with friends I haven't seen in a long time

Doing nothing but watching the races ALL NIGHT LONG (from the stands)

Having a tri-tip sandwich without having to worry about getting anything on the calendars or if I can wolf it down before the next break in the races or red flag

Hanging out with Willy Williams after the races at the Bud trailers

And "many more" as they say....

Things I won't be doing:

Jello shots with the Mantheys

Jaeger shots or bombs

Cabo Wabo shots

Competing in the bean bag tourney (will probably watch though)

OR anything else I don't feel like doing

I wish I could say "come by and try some of this beer that I made" but timing is unfortunately off and I won't have any ready in time. I will have some hard to get beers from Sierra Nevada so if you are a beer snob stop by and I'll hook you up (while supplies last).

Beyond that: I hope everyone has a safe trip there and back, we have great racing and good weather, and that we get to do it again next year!

Also don't forget the earlier start time. I've had a few people asking me about the starting times so don't want anyone to be caught off guard:

The front gate on Friday night will open at 4pm with qualifying around 5 and racing scheduled to start around 6.

On Saturday night the front gate will open at 4pm with hot laps at 5 and racing at 6.

If you're going to the pits it might be a good idea for you to buy a pair of white pants!
