Hi Everyone,
My Dad turns 90 Oct. 15 and if you'd like to leave him a birthday wish I will personally delivery when I see him next week. Or, you can go to www.nationalspeedsportnews.com and leave one there.
Thanks, I know he'll appreciate it.

What an Icon in the racing industry.
Always enjoyed him on the tube or reading his column.
Wish we could rewind the clock about 50 years.
Hope his remaining time is filled with enjoyable moments and great memories.

I loved getting off the school bus and racing to the mailbox for my Speed Sport News. I read that thing more than any textbook I ever had BY FAR.
Best racing publication in existence that I've seen.
I realize I'm supposed to put this message elsewhere, as directed, but can't help saying Happy Birthday here, too. Mr. Economaki has always been a favorite of mine and has educated more than his fair share of fans.

I have always been a fan of his since I first saw him on TV. However, it truly was a life long honor when I was fortunate enough to interview him at the Chili Bowl when he came back to be Grand Marshall. I have been lucky enough to have a picture with a lot of famous drivers, but the only 2 pictures that actually hang on the walls in my house are me with Mr. Economaki (thanks Don Gigler) and me with Jack Miller.
Please send along our best from SW MO as well, we sure would like to see him back in Tulsa in January. Happy Birthday sir!

The greatest announcer for racing that there is. I remember him doing the Daytona 500 when it was first televised. Sure was nice hearing his voice on the air. He sure knows his stuff(many different series). Make sure you take him for a huge steak on his birthday, and tell him you love him very much every day.Your dad is a great man.

Congratulations Chris on your 90th birthday. It was my pleasure to write for your great racing paper from the early eighties until the mid nineties. Hope you have many more.

Thanks Corinne
I hope my brother, sister, and other relatives don't find-out that I sent him a Happy Birthday email - since they don't get one - or a card

Happy Birthday, Chris, from a Left Coast sprint car fan and a very longtime NSSN subscriber. I always loved your work on Wide World of Sports back in the day.

I went to Daytona being 14 yrs. old back in the 70's after the 125's I saw Chris as I walked around the grandstand area, I said hello Chris and he waved back to me saying hello. It was a big deal to me seeing the bigger than life Chris Economaki who was on tv I couldn't wait to tell my parents who I had just seen. I'm now 48 and had seen Chris last year at a USAC sprint show in PA and couldn't help but wonder how much racing he had seen in hise lifetime. Happy 90th Birthday Chris!!

Happy Birthday Chris, I have been reading this paper since the Bergen Herald days. Racing is much better for all the Economaki family have done to keep Auto Racing in the forefront of the sports world. I hope to send you a greeting when you hit the 100 mark. ====Bud Hunnicutt

Great man and a great publication. I was introduced to Chris at the last Silver Crown race held at the Minnesota State Fair, think it was early to mid 80's.

Chris,
Happy 90th birthday. In the early 1990s, I communicated with you and made arrangements to meet you in London. I was on business in a small town north of London called Stevenage and took a train into London one evening for drinks and dinner with you. You claimed that you were in London to buy a new Burberry rain coat; however, if I remember correctly you were there to interview Bernie Ecclestone. I can remember that you had visited the restaurant next to the hotel at which I met you in order to arrange for your meal for that evening. Needless to say I was mesmerized during the two or three hours I spent with you and I will never forget it. The following weekend I saw you at the "Gilmore Roars Again" gathering at Farmers' Market in Los Angeles. Both of those experiences remain at the top of my motor sports activities.

Happy Belated Birthday!
(For those interested in understanding how much Chris has seen and touched in his long and full life read "Let 'Em All Go! The Story of Auto Racing by the Man who was there Chris Economaki". A very interesting and entertaining read.)
