Despite low expectations and much grumbling about the format,

that was a good show. Kind of dusty for qualifying and heats but track good for A and B. Kruzer and Showtime going at it for much of the A, Danny finally got around Cory, but pileup in turn 4 brought out red flag. Restart with Matt Mitchell in front, Danny, Cory and Spencer to the back. Matt wins Ricki 2nd Bragg 3rd. Congrats to Mitchell for first win. Oh and Bragg looked fast. Nice to see Bruce Douglass come out to run with the big dogs. Like to see Bruce get a 410 and run more at Perris. Did'nt mind the 4 hour wait for the feature as it gave me lots of time to ride the feris wheel and kiddie rides. LOL Most of the Ralphie hard core showed, including Ralphie.Ralphie says he's mostly over his bad patch, which is good news.

TrpCrn might like to know Bogan and I off to Hanford next weel for 410 wing show and Modied Nationals at Chowtown and the next weekend Trophy Cup at Tulare.

So much racing the next few weeks I'll probably need new tires when it's over.

See you at the Ovals

Oakhurst, see you at Trophy Cup, and maybe at Hanford.

The good news is however, that before you fall asleep during the wing show at Hanford you can watch the traditional USAC West Coast 360s for some real action. For some more fun visit a local farm and watch the paint dry on a barn! Another tough choice for you is deciding between the I-5 or Highway 99 while heading North.

We got to spend time with some SoCal family members during the break so they didn't have to keep the kids up too late after the races. Then the races actually got over fairly early. It was a long day but the bigger crowd at night made it all worth while. The hope is that they liked the show and they'll come back for more.

This directed to Scott and all of us that are so immersed in the sport of non-wing sprint car racing.

How about printing up a one sheet flyer to hand out the next time the fair race comes around. This flyer would be a short form of sprint car racing 101. Describe what makes sprint cars so unique.

Compare the power to weight ratio of a sprint car to a NASCAR Sprint cup car and say a Toyota Camray. A sprint power to weight isn't that much different than a full fledged grand prix car.

But I think that the average fair fan would relate more to NASCAR.

Explain why all of the wheels are of a different size. Why no wings. Perhaps what it costs to just put a car together. Explain the race format. Oh and probably most important of all, the schedule for the rest of the season. Perhaps a dollar off coupon.

We all want sprint car racing to succeed. If this helps getting some more people polishing those aluminum bleachers with their butts all the better.

Now I will get off of the podium(the power went out on the Tele-prompter)

The down side is missing midgets at Ventura this week. Does'nt get any better than midgets at Jimmy's joint! Also going to miss the All Coast, $5000 to win at Ventura. Hope Greg Taylor wins as a consolation to his crew chief Little Bernie Hammer, who hoped to go to Trophy Cup to see his and my hero TK, Tim Kaeding come from last to win like he did last year.

Probably go up 99 as Norm does'nt like to be too far away from a Mcdonalds. LOL

Also looking forward to the USAC 360 show. If Bud Kaeding is there he will probably win the 360 show as he did last time I saw this show at Tulare. Will most likely be a Kaeding sweep.

TK may be the most exciting open wheel driver in the country - wing or non-wing.

That is the best idea of an inexpensive way to promote Sprint Car racing at the PAS that I have ever heard. Possibly in lieu of the $1.00 coupon, a two for the price of one coupon so they can come with a buddy on the cheap the first time.

We need to get the kids who like THIS stuff to come see some sprint car racing. Throw in some history of Foyt, Andretti, Rutherford, etc and get the younger generation excited about some high speed drifting wheel to wheel.

Someone needs to build Super Ricky Gaunt a stunt car so he can do this stuff in between heats, then climb in his car for the feature. The kids would love it! (He'll need his cape for the full effect).

Certainly uses up a good set of tires.

Bouncing of the limiter like no one else.

I wonder how many Segway riders they went through? Lol

Now that's driving the tires off of a car. I would love to go for a ride with that guy.

Also, why wasn't the PAS souvenir stand open? It was closed the entire day and evening. Someone should have been there selling t-shirts etc. and help promoting the track.
