4th place starter Tim Crawley of Benton Arkansas carefully bided his time, saving his tires and snuck by race leader Channin Tankersley to claim his first Cowtown Sprint Nationals championship at Cowtown Speedway Saturday night.

19-year-old Channin Tankersley picked up his largest payday ever by finishing 2nd. Channin survived a lap 24 scare when fellow Gulf South driver Brandon Berryman and him locked wheels coming off of corner two resulting in Channin bouncing across the track and Berryman flipping after hitting the backstretch wall.

Young Kyle Bellm of Nixa Missouri turned in a stellar performance and came home in 3rd place...erasing his bad luck at last year's CSN when he missed the feature cut by one position on both nights.

Gary Wright had a solid weekend with a 2nd place finish on Friday night and winding up 4th on Saturday night.

49 sprint cars competed in Saturday night's championship event to a great, appreciative and boisterous crowd.

Tony Bruce Jr. unexpectedly broke early in the race and did not return.

It was also great to have Travis Rilat make a cameo appearance at the CSN. His 50% Off ShopTheBOSS.com sprint car was on display throughout the weekend and his family members sold apparel and team merchandise to the fans.

Complete results and video/pics, and the ASCS2 series events will be posted at www.CowtownSpeedway.com when available (most likely Sunday afternoon).

We would like to thank all of the traveling teams and out of area fans for making a special effort to attend the event. And we would like to thank the race teams that donated their race apparel to our pre-race FanFest. The attending fans had a great time.

Next up is the Topless SPOOKY 100, Holiday Food Drive and $500 Halloween costume contest all taking place on October 30th.

The final event of the season will be the 4th Annual City Vending/ShopTheBOSS.com November Sprint Shootout, held November 12-13. Details are on the track website link above.

Congrats..... but it is not a shocker, he's a short track specialist so sure he has to be a favorite.
