TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP) - Tony Stewart backpedaled from his remarks that likened NASCAR to professional wrestling, acknowledging Friday that he hurt the integrity of the sport.
The two-time champion was called to a 6 a.m. meeting with NASCAR president Mike Helton, competition director Robin Pemberton and series director John Darby when the garage opened Friday at Talladega Superspeedway.
"It's a little tender for me to sit down right now," he deadpanned.
So if NAPCAR thinks true racing fans can't see (even Stevie Wonder can) thru NAPCAR for what it really is (WWE with engines) they must think we are all morons. There hasn't been a "honest" race for years. Throwing cautions for 200 mph racing tape on the apron, or better yet no explanation just a "phantom debris caution" pit road speeding "fines" at the best or worst times depending....on who they want to stay on or fall off the lead lap. I don't even watch the crap any more it's so phony. Hats off to Stewart for telling it the way it REALLY is. I'm sure he isn't long for this "athletic exhibition" as pro wrestling is referred to also.

I don't like Nascar....boring!!!! But, I'm a huge Tony Stewart fan. I love the fact that he gives so much back to sprintcar racing. Even more, I respect him for not always being "politically correct". If people don't want to know what Tony thinks.....they shouldn't ask him any questions. If he is asked a question, I'm sure he assumes they want an honest answer. If not, they should tell him ahead of time what he is supposed to say and give him a script!!!

I just have to say, the only reason I watch that nascrap is because Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne and Kenny Schrader run those big, boring cars. It is just really unfortunate that they couldn't make the same bucks running Sprintcars because we all know that's where there hearts are. To be crapped on for being yourself and telling it like it is, is just that , CRAP! I have a ton of respect for those who won't comply to being a PHONY! Thanks you guys that have entertained the hell out of me in a Sprintcar and from staying out from under the phony France umbrella. Stick to your roots, like you always have and thanks for giving back to the Sprintcar people who are among the best people I have been fortunate enough to hang out with all my life and intend to until the end. Oh, and when I mentioned I watched that nascrap, I can't watch the whole thing, maybe the first 20 and last 20 laps because it pisses me off and puts me to sleep.
Nothing compares to Sprintcar racing on Clay!!
