Last Sunday,Versus aired the ASCS disaster from Eagle. If they do a re-run....save your time.
It is a one hour classic in HOW TO NOT ATTRACT NEW FANS TO THE SPORT.

ya i saw that one! that track is a sprint car eater! went to the ascs national nebraska cup there this year and that rut wasnt quite so bad but it was still there! a few guys lost it on that rut this year but not as bad as that race they aired on versus last sunday! the stock cars and modifieds run in that rut so it just makes it bigger every heat and race!

30 minutes of flips and about 5 laps of racing doesn't make for good tv. Hope the next race they show is better.

That Eagle show was indeed a crashfest ... wonder what the damage pricetag was on that one....
Not sprint racing ... but just saw a South Park promo for their season premiere tonight on Comedy Central and apparently they are going to skewer NASCAR tonight at 9 central ... it showed Cartman driving ... that's gotta be good for a few chuckles.

When that came on and I saw that they were just showing the A main, I was wondering how they stretched it out that long but then it turned into a wreckfest. Other than that though I thought it was pretty good coverage, a lot better than when the Outlaws were aired on the Outdoor channel. That being said though I wish there would be more races on TV, no matter what the coverage is.

If you're anywhere near North Texas this weekend and next weekend - there are 2 day shows each weekend - should be good (especially this weekend at Cowtown)... and don't forget the Short Track Nationals Oct. 28, 29 & 30 in Little Rock - which I think are also slated to be on Versus sometime. I think the crew who shoots the ASCS races does a great job - especially when there is good racing.
That was funny about Danny Wood (social security). I was surprised they didn't use the "Flying Fossil" moniker. Maybe because that was when he was with the World of Outlaws.

I believe that SPEED will be airing the final night of the WoO World Finals live. Will have sprints, late models, and big block modifieds this year.

Saw the Southpark episode last night.
In a nutshell, Cartman wants to become a NASCAR driver and thinks he is too "rich and smart". HE gives all his money away and then eats a ton of Vagisil because he saw a TV ad that said the product "may cause memory loss". They ripped racing pretty good as being a bunch of stupid hicks. (the show is an equal opportunity offender)
Best line...."That Jimmy Johnson is dumber than I thought, he is gonna be tough to beat"

Hope the big-block modifieds are telecast too. When most Americans, at least in the midwest, see the word modifieds, they are thinking IMCA or Wissota modifieds with their thousand dollar engines. Don't get me wrong, those things are fast, but they don't compare to the east coast dirt-modifieds which are blazing fast----and expensive.

thousand dollar engines? hahahaha thats funny. trust me, their way more than that. dont know how much the east coast ones cost, nor know much about them, but I know a thousand dollar engine is a pipe dream.
