Sammy is NOT a WoO driver. The streak ended at 9 wins in a row for PA and still goes on with 10 losses in a row for the WoO.

How many Knoxville regs in the feature field at the National Open this weekend? The Knoxville season is long over and not a single team is willing to step up and make the tow for a $50,000 to win race? See how stupid this agument is?
|
Let's talk about traveling....
90% of the Posse won't even travel 200 miles west to run the WoO Lernerville show, especially the Don Martin Memorial which pays a hefty purse....so why would most Knoxville regulars travel to the Grove?
There's a certain home field advantage that Knoxville and Williams Grove enjoy for their regulars. . Most non-traveling teams don't travel because of budgets and work restrictions...., not because they fear the competition......

Sammy is indeed a WoO driver. According to all posse rules, Sammy drives a WoO car, owned by a WoO car owner who has competed in over 80% of the WoO shows. By posse set rules, this makes Sammy a WoO driver. Sammy runs mostly WoO shows, therefore making him WoO. Sorry folks from PA land, but you made the rules, we are just following them.

If Sammy isn't Outlaw, because he doesn't race for points, how can you call Stevie Smith Posse when he races only special shows for the most part and races "when he wants". And yet, if Stevie had won.............

Sammy and the WoO are saying the same thing - Sammy is not eligible for the special race in May in spite of winning the Grove Open...why?
from a post on the Grove Board:
From a WoO press release:
Earning a spot in the 2011 Morgan Cup: The Top-Five World of Outlaws finishers and the Top-Five Pennsylvania Posse finishers from the finale of the National Open earned a spot in the inaugural Morgan Cup to be held in May of 2011 at Williams Grove Speedway. The Morgan Cup will be a 12-lap dash with a $10,000 total purse along with the Sterling Silver Morgan Cup, which the winner will earn and will be displayed at the winning group's headquarters. The Top-five World of Outlaws finishes in the National Open were: Jason Meyers, Jason Sides, Paul McMahan, Donny Schatz and Kraig Kinser. The Top-Five PA Posse finishers were: Lance Dewease, Stevie Smith, Brian Montieth, Daryn Pittman and Greg Hodnett. If any of these drivers changes teams in the off-season, they are still eligible for the Morgan Cup, as the driver's themselves earn the spot, not the car or team they are driving for in 2010 The lineup for the Morgan Cup will be determined by a coin flip, with all the World of Outlaws cars starting in one line (either inside or outside) and all the PA Posse cars starting in the opposite line (either inside or outside).

did anyone ever say Sammy is Posse?
Only thing that was said is Sammy , in his own words, is NOT an Outlaw.
So, the Scoreboard reads. Posse 9, Sammy aka Old Guys 1 WoO 0 last ten at the Grove...

Who are all these full-time PA racers that don't go Lernerville? There are only a handful of drivers in PA doing it for a living. As you pointed out, the overwhelming majority of drivers and teams have regular jobs. The teams in PA already run more races than anywhere else in the country.
The interstates run east and west. There is a huge double standard on this board. People will bash away at teams in PA, but there is always some other justification why teams from other areas don't show up at a particular race.
My post asking where the Knoxville regulars were this past weekend was mostly tongue in cheek. Teams race where they can afford to race, and as many races as they can afford. I completely understand that. That goes for PA teams, Knoxville teams, NorCal teams, whererever. One of the most ridiculous aspects of this board is that any time a team does not go to a particular race it is because they are scared, not that it could possibly have anything to do with finances or regular jobs.

Other than the NATIONALS, I doubt too many PA teams ever run over to Knoxville to race for one night.
The same for the Knoxville boys.
Folks, that is why it is called "LOCAL RACING!"
Sammy is OUTLAW...not necessarily of the "Uncle Teddy"variety but he is an OUTLAW and has done the bulk of his 2010 racing this year with the travelers.
The Pa folks can come up with all kinds of "reason" their steak is still alive but the simply fact is Sammy, who has more 2010 WoO points than any other series he might race with, won. Get over it.
Now smile. He keeps your butt cheeks from puckering!

hey dumbasses - Sammy won the race...but why does the WoO refuse to consider him an Outlaw - he is not permitted to run the Posse / WoO challenge race in May...maybe Sammy is not DOWN with the platinum member insider's club?

Thanks for the link BRR - that is classic Sammy + bow to the crowd. Sammy is The King of the True Outlaws - not a member of DIRT's Travelling Circus...

Maybe because it was on a Tuesday...
The only notable Posse that wasn't there was Hodnett. I don't remember, but he said something about why he wasn't there, can't recall.

The WoO think that Stevie is Posse...
For the record, the streak is over for the Posse. There would have been no difference had Madsen, Shaffer or Swindell won it...the impressive streak is over. But it is a fact that a WoO driver did not win.

Hey dirtracer84, Schatz is Not the only 4 time winner! Steve Kinser has also won the National Open 4 times. He won in 90, 92, 94 and in 03.
|
I believe without looking it up that Lance Dewease is a 4 time winner as well. The traveling argument holds no water as the the Knoxville regulars would never travel here to run the Grove even if they paid a million to win. They have no shot at ever being competitive here with the Outlaws in town, ask Skip Jackson. However, I believe several Posse cars were at the Knoxville show in May including the 15 and 30c.......Go leppo!
