Hello everyone, my name is Kevin Gilmore, I helped a friend race 360 winged sprint cars for 10 years, but have retired

After a loved one was killed due to texting while driving, our family, friends and Eagle Raceway in Eagle Nebraska, have started a non-profit organization called, Racers Against Texting While Driving, We are building a 2-seat & street legal sprint car to use as a tool, to campaign with against this deadly action. We asking for parts to build the car, and money donations for campaigning.
As of now, Nebraska does not have any...campaigns regarding texting while driving so were on the forefront of any action.
The car build, all sponsors and information about our cause will be in Circle Track Magazine. great....exposure for everyone. We will have your logo on the body and/or wings, letterheads our website, car show board, ect.

If you want to send me a banner, I will attach it to our car show EZ-UP tent and any brochures, fliers, business cards ect.,that you have we will hand them out at all events and at the race tracks. So far it may be the pace car, or used as a second pace car at Eagle Raceway next season. We will also sell tickets in the stands and the winner will get a ride down the highway 2 miles to the town of Eagle (where I live) and also during all the track's "A" feature class's as the pace car.

If we have enough donated funds to pay the nights winnings we may have a "Turn Off Your Texting" night at the races. During intermission we have two golf carts that we'll set up a orange cone road racing track. Drivers will compete and the one that knocks down the lesser cones wins.

If you have any ideas with events you'll be having please let me know and we'll bring the car to your business and give rides.
Below is our proposal.

Feel free to call me anytime.

Thank you,
Kevin Gilmore

Proposal-
We are asking for new or very good condition sprint car parts and money donations to build a special 2 seat & street legal sprint car to campaign with for our cause.
I hope this is a lesson to all her young friends and college mates that texting while driving is too much of a distraction. The problem is our young people are so resilient we're concerned that in a few short months they will go right back to texting. So we need to campaign our cause as much as we can.
Our goal is to bring together both parents and teen drivers to educate and teach them about the essential need for non-distracted driving and how this one change in behavior can make a difference in reducing the incidence of fatal crashes for drivers aged 15-19. Loosing a child to something so preventable is a terrible and senseless thing to endure.
The project now is to build a two-seat sprint that we can use as a "tool"to educate everyone about the dangers of texting while driving. Apx. 85% of the car will use off the shelf parts of the dirt racing sprints We are planning on attending Eagle Raceway & other tracks car shows and related type advents. The Nebraska State Patrol is excited that we'll be joining them in several " Promote Safety" events next year beside their "Roll Over Simulator".

We plan on setting up a booth at car shows area race tracks at the Knoxville Nationals and other related events. We will be attending the Eagle Raceway Annual Christmas Party on December 5 2010 and the awards banquet on January 8 2011,asking for parts & donations. We will also be campaigning at local schools, car shows and the University of Nebraska Lincoln,Omaha and Kearney. The Nebraska State Patrol is very excited that we'll campaign next to them with their "roll over simulator", promoting safety belts.
We have the website below, but it needs a lot of work to get it to the point we need so we're contacting a professional. We'll updating the cause information build & finished photo's, attendance dates and our sponsor's links. Click on "links" for our current sponsors.
We've also just started our email address below and PayPal account. Checks are also accepted to my mailing address below.
GREAT NEWS !
I spoke with the editor Rob Fisher of "Circle Track magazine"and the two seat build and the story of Alley texting while driving will be featured article. I have pasted our email conversation below and will be talking details this week. Rob said he'll include all sponsors.

This will be very exciting for the sprint Alley and the campaign against texting and driving ! Being a racer how much better can it get for all of this to be in such a great world wide publication magazine to aid in getting weariness about this deadly and addictive problem in our country.

As you know, this magazine is the best there is for all circle track racing
.

We drag raced it last night in the 1/8 mile. The owner has never drag raced before, so his launch time was not very good. We need to get the car on the chassis dyno to adjust the shift points, but it ran a 6.91, which is apx. 10.90 in the 1/4. Not too bad.

I have a C.A.D photo of the two seater, but it's too large to post.

Really,... I think I have a couple of photo's of that car. I'll search for a link of the chassis. Building a two seat one from a stock length is not a problem like our single seat. With this car, all the tubing from the rear motor plate forward is all new chrome molly.

Thank you much.
