What does anyone know about this town? I found a shop down there that may work for me but I just need to know what type of town it is as far as crime and what its like to live there.

I have lived in Santee from 1970 to present time and find it the best town in the San Diego area. It has less crime than most east county towns.

They did have and probably still have a park down there that has some artificial lakes that are filled with treated sewage water. Way, way back when I lived in San Diego county the park was pretty nice place. East of Santee is a place called Lakeside. It was pretty redneck back then. Head north out of Lakeside on twisty Wildcat Canyon Road and you will eventually find the racetrack at Barona. Fun place.
