This chassis has wing mounts but I have never heard of the company before and googling them did not find any information on them (at least when I did it).
Does anyone have any information on their cars?

I used to run a Lightning chassis when I first started in sprint cars. It was the predecessor to Stinger Chassis. They were welded up by Richard Harvey Sr.. I'm not sure when Lightning started building cars, but mine was either a '90 or '91 chassis and I think that was one of the last ones.

I used to work for Richard Reif here in Paso who during his racing career ran a Lightning chassis car owned by Don Forbes?.....It was the XXX car ...I thought they were built by someone else before Stinger took them over...I can check into this further for you though as I know who to to ask to find out his name and history of the Lightning for you....

It appears that the one I am asking about was built by Jim Thorpe. I was told that he was the one that put the Bobsled Hood on the chassis and this one has one of those hoods.
Thanks, any and all information is useful!

If my memory is still working that would be correct on the dates for when that hood style showed up.....Curious who has this car that you are looking at???....In many of my starts to build a ford sprinter over the years I actually owned one that was a roller and sold it to a guy in Bakersfield.....wondered if this was the same car....Jeff

I live in Bakersfield and bought a roller from a guy up in the Fresno area. He was an EMT or firefighter because the car had a "lifeline" type of graphic on the side. I am sure this is not the same car we are discussing. It was destroyed back in '99 at the Bakersfield Speedway. I broke a drag link going into turn one and pushed the front clip over about 4 inches when it hit the wall!
