Last weekend saw Springfield, Illinois' Jordan Goldesberry compete in a pair of races in the west central portion of the Prairie State. Friday, Sept. 17th saw the nineteen year old racer picked up a strong 4th place A-Main finish at the Herb Barlow Memorial Race at Jacksonville Speedway. The following night, the team headed north to Canton, Illinois' Spoon River Speedway for the Tom Knowles Memorial, a race that Goldesberry won two years prior. Having propelled the Goldesberry Signs and Designs/Performance Truck Accessories/Collision Care, Inc./Modern Paving and Scrap/Fibertech Racing/Scott Performance #65 to a runner-up finish in his heat race (after starting 5th), things were looking up for the team. However, what everyone saw when they looked up was rain, as Mother Nature would take the checkers on this evening. The rainy weather would continue to wreak havoc on the team's weekend plans, as Sunday's Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders race at Quincy Raceway fell victim to the rain for the second week in a row.
This upcoming weekend will see Jordan push off in 410 competition in both Illinois and Wisconsin. This Friday, the bright yellow and blue #65 Maxim chassis racer will compete at the Coors Light Shaheen's Blast from the Past race at Jackonville. The following evening, it's off to the Badger State to compete with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association at Wilmot Speedway. On Sunday, it's back to the Land of Lincon, as the IRA visits the highbanks of LaSalle Speedway for the Interstate Batteries of Central Illinois Bill Waite, Jr. Memorial.
