Oct 16 $5000 to win , $500 to start Golden State Challenge 410 wings at Hanford. Also on the card, the USAC West Coast 360/s. Saw the same show at Tulare, and it was a killer, best show I've seen thisyear. If you have been turned of on wings by the Outlaws the GSC puts on a barnbuner of a show. Am looking forward to seeing the 360's as they put on a great show when I saw them at Tulare.

WARNING! If you go you may be tempted to go to Tulare the following weekend for the the Trophy Cup. A 2 day event for winged 360's which has 80 cars signed up. Cars from the GSC, Civil War and Ocean Speedway sprints will be there. Brent Kaedins and sons should all be in attendance. Brent and Bud are fast but TK, Tim, is the most exciting. Talking to fans on my higeras up North have all said the Trophy Cup is the best show of the year. .

yes the Trophy Cup is the best race of the year IMO. I will be at the Cotton Classic as well. Nothing like wings and non-wings on the same bill! Can't wait for these 2 races and then my first Oval Nationals right after that.

Trophy Cup......Best race of the year hands down!

Hey Scott do you remember us from the GSC race in June? We camped next to you(the big orange condo tent..lol) and hung-out with you a little bit after the race we were the crew from Santa Maria? I was wondering if camping is free or do we have to pay for camping for the Cotton Classic? We are bringing a crew over for the race and just trying to figure out the camping situation there. Thanks

Here is the video of TK, Tim Kaeding winning the 2009 Trophy Cup at Tulare. The 24 cars are inverted wih the fastest cars in the back. TK started 24th because he set fast time.

For a long time I disliked wings, because I saw WOO wings shows only, but went to the GSC at Tulare, Hanford and Watsonville this year and also the Civil War boys at Petaluma and I now would rather see a Norcal wing show than nonwing show down here in LaLa land.

Why do you post about wings here (traditional sprint car message board) when you obviously dislike the sprint cars at Perris? LaLa land?

Been going to non wing shows since Ascot so "I don't have to show no stinkin'badge". Lance posts results of nonwing shows on the NorCal board which is mostly wings, so why should we be limited by what some old Luddite whines about.

I will take that as a compliment, at least when it concerns traditional sprint cars, call me Ned Ludd...if you wish.

And BTW, what new technology did the adding of a wing to a sprint car create? I have watched my share of wing races myself and if you like the no-passing, freight-train shows then by all means keep headisng up North on I-5. TK's run at last year's Trophy Cup is the exception to the usual rule in wing racing.

The best part of that video was watching TK pick off all 23 cars. The most exciting pary of any form of racing is passing. I would like to see at least the mains fully inverted. At least have the dash guys start some where in the middle. As it stands now one of the fast guys quickly gets out in front and motors away. Inversion might tempt some to sandbag it to get a better starting position.

I have been to 5 wing shows this year and not one of them was a no passing freight train.

See you at Wags!

I would think the same reason you are on the nor-cal (winged cars website) bashing them. I think Dave just likes winged and non-wing racing period like most of us.

Its racing.... come on, like it or not open wheel racing is free to be supported on either site and commented on by everyone.

The fair does charge for camping, but in the pits is free. I think it is $10 for tents though...

Oh yeah we remember you! That was a good weekend! Can't wait to have you back!!!

410 Wing Sprint Cars is what the Cotton Classic is all about!! And having the USAC 360's on the same card is an added bonus for us and the fans! Just glad to be able to bring this kind of event back to Kings!!!

Special Thanks to Giant Chevrolet, Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino, Budweiser, Larry Davis Farms, KRC Safety, Mcllelan Equipment, Action Equipment and all my local sponsors for making this first season a sucess!

Scott and his crew are doing a tremendous job at the fenceless wonder. SoCal: Don't miss this opportunity to see the drivers race on both sides of the scoreboard.

Dave, you missed a fantastic passing filled feature at Watsonville tonite. Here is my take on the night: ---------------- I drove nearly 3 hours tonight one way to watch the California Civil War Series race against the Taco Bravo Ocean Speedway 360 sprint series and was once again reminded why Tim Kaeding is the most exciting winged sprint car racer I have had the pleasure of watching. He had an early race spin after a "racing deal" tangle with Kyle Larson. They both got back going and started at the back. TK proceeded to lay waste to car after car on the lightning fast tight bullring. High/Low/ Middle it didn't matter he was on an absolute mission. He made it up to 2nd place and was gaining quickly on the leader Tommy Tarlton when a caution came out thereby taking traffic out of the equation for the last hand full of laps. If you were there you know its no bull, TK leaves it all on the track. Nothing to spare no points chasing play it safe crap, just honest to goodness racing for the win. TK now owns the top 3 spots in my all time best drives I have witnessed. He made sure to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth as there appears to be no bad blood amongst them (apparently parting ways after Trophy Cup). He did mention how much he loves racing the exciting California tracks like Ocean Speedway. Also stated that "who knows I may just start my own team and tow in next year with an open trailer". No doubt if he does he will still be the most entertaining driver on the track. TK thank you for making my night! Also thanks again for proving the naysayers wrong who say there is no passing in winged sprint car racing there couldn't be a bigger distortion of the truth. How many more cars does he need to pass before people open their eyes and see that all forms of sprint car racing are exciting?

Hey Matt. Thanx for the blow by blow on Watsonville. Another spectacular performance by my main man TK. When he won 3 mains at Hanford and Tulare in 2 weekends I realized what a phenominum he is. I am going up for the Cotton Classic and then the Trophy Cup in October. If you are coming for that would like to meet you. Look for a largish guy with a TK shirt on.

Oh BTW checked out your web site and really dig your work.

What part of your complaint about not having full inversion's and a dislike for sandbagging make any sence? If you think that there are too many team's "baggin" for a 8 car invert, you wouldn't think that anybody would try that for a full invert ? How much more tore up equipment do you want to see with "fast guy's" driving over a "slow guy" that doesn't have front of the pack seat time ?

We are getting geared up. It is still a few weeks away, but we want to make this a great night of racing and a good night of entertainment for the fans.

Kings is donating a portion of each ticket sold and each pit pass sold to the Susan G. Coman Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness and American Cancer Society. My mom is a survivor and this is something that touches me deeply.

We hope to see you at the races!
