Would happen if they would schedule the ASCS National Series next year for the Queens Royale.

They were at Granite City this year and the car count was like 40

For my part I hope it never happens. I enjoy making that trip to see open wheels with open rules. I like the no sanction and even if it were sanctioned I'd rather see it sanctioned with the IRA or another 410 series. I wouldn't make the drive for anything less. Just my .02.

I agree with 48. MileDirt has been hitting Emmett's kool aide a little too much. On another thread he said that suspect, oops spec, head 360's would save the drivers money. Everyone with any information knows that the older 410's and 430's that they run at Farmington cost around one fourth of what a current 360 runs.

Also if they ran an ASCS national race there, they would get smoked by the Montgomery's, Worley, and Hurley like Timmy and the others did to the No-Stars back in 2003. Smile

There are two issues here... one is what's cheaper to run. Hey, I'll take your word for it that the 410's they currently run at Farmington are the cheaper way to go. I still wonder why some local guys spend all the diesel to drive to Lake of the Ozarks on Saturday night to run 360s

I have no idea which is cheaper to run, all I want is the best chance at a growing car count.

As to the Queens Royale, I do think that a national ASCS sanctioned show would bring in some big hitters and a better car count. The Queen's race just doesn't draw what it used to. If they have more than 35 cars I'll be pleasantly surprised. The Granite City ASCS show had 40 cars including Jason Johnson, Gary Wright, Brady Bacon, Johnny Herrera, etc - love to see these run against Joey, Tim, Tommy, and Jimmy... I know I would be rooting for the local boys!

Keep it a 410 show. I dont know if you made last years Queens but talk about some great drivers there! Terry McCarl, Johnny Herrera, Craig Mintz, Billy Balog, Tony Bruce Jr, Shane Stewart, Ricky Logan, Danny Smith, etc. This year with all these tracks changing their date for their big shows will hurt the Queens Royale as far as "big name" drivers. There will still be 30 plus cars there Im sure. Last year had 44.

I think it's worth a shot. If K'Ville is still racing, schedule it on a Fri. like Gundaker did at Tri-City and it'd be a good show. Not sure if Brian Brown would race though, he's not a big fan of Farmington. Adding Powri to the program would make it even better. It's been like 5 years since they've had a midget race there. Don't know why Franklin hasn't scheduled another since.

I think F-town will be lucky to have 30 cars for the Queen's Royale. One thing that is missing when the track's weekly results are posted here is the number of cars in the pits. I'd like to know how many they're drawing every week.

C'mon Fred be truthful, could you really tell that much difference speed wise in the cars when you went to the STN's three years ago?

If Farmington is running 410's all season, why make there biggest race of the season a 360 race when most of the regulars only have 410 motors. Farmington just needs alot better pay out and promoting, not just for this race but for the whole season. Make it a place where all the racers want to come run.

Keep the royal an open engine race!

I would love to to see the ascs national tour come to farmington. There have been 2 different guys win with a 360 against the 410+ the last few years at sfcr.

There was 24 cars last night, id say the average has been right around 20 cars for most of the year.

Pretty simple really, they like racing at LOS better than at Farmington. But its not just that, its Sedalia, Lamonte, Springfield, Wheatland, Moberly, Malden, Quincy, Granite City, West Memphis. All those tracks are within 4 hours and ran 360 races this year. How many different tracks ran 410 races within 3-4 hours of Farmington? Some guys just aren't interested in racing at the same track with the same cars week after week after week. It's more enjoyable running different tracks against different cars. And honestly, no one at the local level is making a living doing this. Enjoyment has to be high on the list to continue to spend the time and money. Right now 360s just give you a lot more options.

Yeah I'm prolly not coming up but not because Brownie won't be there that's for sure. Saving my money for Riverside and Granite City the following weekend.

Then what's the reason as all year long its been I'm coming up? You'll pay Gundaker more money for his crap, but never come where your friends are..go figure..lol

I need a list of ALL the drivers towing past Farmington also. I know of one who nobody misses anyway, but when someone says ALL that must be a bunch in my book...

I love sprint car racing, 360 or 410, wing, non wing it doesn't matter. But one of the biggest problems with 360's is that most of the purses for a regular show at a weekly track are pretty thin, what something like 1000.00 to win. But the cost of the car is still there, motors are outrageous, tires, travel expense for not much money. If you have more tracks running on the same night, that means fewer cars per track. Maybe we need a Missouri travelling 360 series?

There is a MO based 360 series, The Winged Outlaw Warriors. It pays $1500 to win.

LOS pays its 360's $1300 to win.

Just as a side note: I-30 pays $1375; Riverside is $1250; Sedalia was $1300

This is part of the reason the ASCS draws such large car counts. $6000 to win / $500 for last and B-main non-transfers $250.

305's are the herpes of sprint cars

Here's my opinion, I think Farmington should go 360. Why? Look at all the series there is right around the midwest. Farmington could schedule 3 different series to run during the race season. Plus, if they go 360 they'd get alot more cars and different ones on regular nights. Look at all the tracks running 360 in the midwest and nearby. tracks in MO,ARK,TN, and so on. It's a win win. 360 drivers get another track to race at and Farmington fans get to see some good series come through and a variety of different cars come through on a weekly basis. I bet Farmington would get more cars than the 20 410's they are getting now. I've been going to SFCR since I was 6 or 7 and I've seen how it has changed. Back in the early 90's drivers were coming from Tennessee,Kentucky,Arkansas, Iowa, Illinois and so on. The big shows were always awesome cause guys like Gary wright, Mike Ward, Danny Lasoski, Kelly and Randy Kinser, Stenhouse, Crawley, Gray, all those guys and many more would roll in for a big race. You never knew who was going to show up. I am not mouthing SFCR in any way at all. It's been my home track for 20 something years. I just feel going 360 would be a change for the better in the sprint car class there. Someone mentioned making the Queen's Royale a 360 race. I comepletely agree with that. Carefully schedule the race when the ASCS guys are off as well as the Invaders and when there's not another big race somewhere and look at the amount of cars you could possibly get. Prolly anywhere from 40 to 60 cars. Plus having Jacksonville teamed up for a two show weekend helps out tons! You can't go wrong with it in my opinion. I would increase the purse and little more as far as a weekly shows go. If I had to, maybe drop one class. As far as the Queen's Royale format. I love that they qualify but I don't like the invert thing they had last year. Alot of the fast guys that qualified up in the top ten and ran well in their heats were starting way back in the feature. Cars that didn't qualify well and didn't do that great in their heats somehow made the dash and of course started good in the feature. I'm lost on that invert format and don't like it. That may have ran some drivers off from last year. The racing is great at SFCR and the Queen's last year was awesome! I'm just stating my opinion on here and am in no way meaning to cause trouble or offend anyone. I just think 360 will only help the track.

if I ever won a big lotto I would throw big money to the purse to make the queens royal what it could be, one of the greatest races in the country, the track offers great challenges to the drivers that favors the locals, the open engine rule also tend to help the locals, as a two day show it could be huge, I could see it being a place where the WOO might not dominate

if you have never seen a sprint car run there you are missing a treat, I wish ascs would change their engine rules to the same as farmington, as I am rather sure that the top 10 in the ascs national points are spending more money on tires, engines, and engine maintenance than most of the guys at the classic SFCR
