I watched it (just turned 60). I know this won't help you much as a TV producer, but auto racing on TV doesn't really cut it for me. You need the total experience, sound, smell, even the overwhelming dust.

But better closer competition could only help.

Great Story. By the way that will be $124 for a family of four. Thanks

More weight, more regulation, more similarity in the
cars.... that will ensure plenty of thrills for years
to come. Only the most average talent behind the
wheel will be needed with such awesome equipment on
the track!

Another thing that may be keeping kids away is tracks with lots of loud mouth drunks.

Jealousy....it is a horrible disease....just like putting people down you know nothing about.

Enjoy yourself....and whatever fantasies propel you through your day.

I found Jim's article to be dead-on ... the solution to the issue of attracting young fans (while not alienating the older ones) is debatable -- I think the pyro shows for the WRG co-promoted WoO shows like the one they had for the IronMan55 is a step in the right direction ... give 'em "some sizzle with their steak". Every major league sport has its sideshows -- from NFL and NBA cheerleaders to NASCAR's pre-race concerts.

Tell the announcer to play music that has the "F" word or some derivation of it, every three or four seconds.

Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

TV broadcasts with guys like Ken Stout will keep kids from showing any interest in sprint cars.

Cheers!

What is wrong with paying for your entertainment and how are they going to get money to pay the drivers if you want to sit a home and watch it for free.

If you can't afford it they don't need you for a fan anyway.

Young drivers like Cody Darrah and Kyle Larson can only help to attract the youth back to this sport. Total pit access wouldn't hurt either. Check out a NHRA race, there's more going on for fans in the pits then on the track and the venues are packed. There is a lot entertainment choices these days that racing has to compete with. When I was kid the choice was sit home and watch Hogan's Heros or go with dad to the races. It was easy for me!

NHRA does not have cars coming to their pits with no clutch to help stop them

Crews have enough trouble now with to many people around.

There would be half lawyers waiting for something to happen so they could sue

I doubt if any insurance company would have anything to do with it

Risk is to high

Yet if you pony up the $35-$50 out here any adult is welcome if they sign a release, minors too if they have a parent sign a release. Changes would need to be made, that's for sure.

I don't have too much of a problem with the adult ticket prices.

What I do have a problem with is the kids ticket price and the age at which one goes from a kid to an adult ticket @$35-$40.

Kids 12 and under should be FREE. They will spend enough $ at the concession stand to make up for the seat $.

Ages 12-18 should be half of whatever an adult ticket is.

You have to get kids/young people to the races if you want them to become a paying fan for life. They can't come to the races if they can't afford a ticket.

The Rubins (Huset's Speedway) get criticized for a lot of stuff (some well deserved) but their WoO ticket prices for kids are reasonable ($5 for under 12, little ones are free but not sure what age) and even their adult tickets for a WoO show are reasonable.

However they should offer another ticket price for the 13-18 yr olds. In SD 14 yr olds can drive, make the ticket prices such that they drive to the track not away from it.
