I think we are all being a little too critical of the WOO, this year in particular. I have even voiced my
opinions a time or two. But, for the most part, they have done a pretty good job this year i think. It cant
be easy to get the cards to fall night after night so that the qualifying, heat races and dashes get the lineup
just right come A main time. There is plenty of chances for the smaller budget teams to get in the show
and them money. The right cars usually win, and occasionally we are treated to an upset. Lets review
the season:
1. Kings royal--last lap pass
2. Myers wins from 18th starting spot
3. Freddy wins from 24th (?-23rd?)
4. 17 different A main winners!!!--repeat 17 different winners!!
5. A fierce points battle with a month to go--2 points!!!--and very likely a first time champ!
6. An uprising from the "senior citizens"--King, Haud, and Sammie-14 A main wins i believe
7. More drama with the PA Posse vs. Outlaws--still more to come
8. Two races within days with an under .1 second margin of victory
9. Great crowds even in this bad economy
10. We dont live in Cuba and get to watch sprint car racing without being flogged!!!!!

Nice to see some positive sentiments toward the WoO -- overall I also think the racing has been pretty damn great this year.

Great post. Unfortunately this is a positive thread so it won't get much attention on here.

I have been pleased also with the racing, my only complaint is only 1 race in the east texas area, but thats a promoters deal. Anxious to see how the series ends with the close point battle

Same here. I have to mostly read about, catch internet footage, or watch clippings on windtunnel to get
up to date on what is going on. Also, read a lot of posts of those who were at the races. They only
get close to us once a year and this year I was out of town. Made it to Knoxville though for the
Nationals.
We just dont have very many places they could come to.

Wow, someone that sounds like a fan and enjoyed the races instead of going to find out what was wrong
Thanks for putting up something decent and intelligent

The King's Royal has been a World of Outlaws race ever since the race was televised live on TNN back in the '90s. Eldora still uses their own format, and I don't believe it's a full-point paying event, but it does carry the WoO sanction.

I think this season is great and I am going to the World Finals in Charlotte for the first time because I think the championship will be decided on the last race. (and if not, I will still go to see some great racing). But to see a positive thread on here or any web forum is refreshing. Go Jason Meyers!!

There is some truth to these facts , but all I've been saying is they need to do more to refine there format , and do more for fans to provide even better racing . Still too much winning from front two rows is not good .
Not just the WoO BUT ALL SANCTIONING GROUPS NEED TO LISTEN TO FANS MORE , EVEN NASCAR DOES , AS THERE PRODUCT NEEDS HELP BADLY
World Finals are an example of not listing to fans , too much racing in three days , not good for track

I don't think you can be made happy
When did the winning not come form the front 2 or 3 rows?
That is why it is called qualifying and you have to earn the spot.
If you judge a race on only the main you are probably not going to like it
Just can't keep from being negative can you

I have to agree this is one of the best all around years I remember for the WoO. These guys show you night after night why they are the best in the business! I've seen races from several different sanctions, from different parts of the country, and the WoO are still the Greatest Show on Dirt.

Not trying to be negative , just telling it as I see it . Have not seen a good outlaw race this year only at Knoxville and in PA , sorry don't like their format .

Overall I don't know what more you would want. Every race can't be decided by inches at the checkers or someone racing from the backrow to win. Although this year we have been treated to some of that kind of racing. More different winners than ever, an extrememly tight points race, you could go on and on. Still "The Greatest Show on Dirt" bar none!

For all the fans heading to the World Finals, you better start praying that they hire the exact same track prep crew they had back in the Spring. That was by far the best show the Outlaws have ever put on there. The heat races were definitely not parade laps. The main event had racing two inches from the wall, and two inches from the tires. It was definitely a great race from the first hot lap session to the final lap.

I am not in disagreement with you that there are improvements to be made. I have posted several of my
opinions and ideas that (i think) could help improve on the show while still being fair to the drivers. All I
am trying to state is that this has been a pretty good year for the WOO. I dont know if it a direct result
of their preparation or rules tweaking or if it just fell in their laps, but it has been good. All sanctioning
bodies definitely need fan input, but there are so many opinions out there, only a certain number of fans
can be satisfied. I am a huge fan of double file restarts (which i think has contributed to the awesome
racing this year) but many are against it. I am a huge fan of longer races (with a fuel stop if needed) but
we all know that there are tons of folks who hate this. I think time will tell how it all pans out, but for
now, I have not been disappointed at all with 2010. Good reference to Nascar though. All
sanctioning groups need to take a good look at the negative effect nascar suffered when they watered
down their product. They are starting to get the fan base back now, but it took a toll on them. I dont
think the WOO is heading in that direction though, or at least not at the warp speed some seem to
think it is.
