Folks, it's PR time, hope you're listening.
After last night's fiasco I have one suggestion/solution you may want to consider. There is another 50 Grand to win race on the horizon, the fabled National Open and I am assuming you will be offering that for sale as well. With the multitude of unhappy customers from last night (myself included) you may want to include the first night of that show on a COMPLIMENTARY basis to offset last night's purchase. I am sure this could be easily achieved and the sooner you make this wise decision the better off you'll be. In case this sounds confusing, those that PAID for last night only!
Having said that I can only hope tonight's broadcast will be a 'much improved' version or you will have cost yourselves a whole bunch of current and potential customers.
To those that may not be happy with this, I can assure you the National Open is a GREAT race at one of the most fabled speedplants in the country, ouch, did I say that, lol? This is an excellent trade-off and might appease most, now if anyone's listening at corporate.....Take It Easy....
PS Go Sammy....

I agree, Ive subscribed every year since dirtvision started and never have been credited for rain outs , poor coverage, and getting booted almost every broadcast. After watching Knoxvilles PPV Dirtvision needs an update!

No probs, just happy to see him running this well. Buddy Frank Smith sent me some great Wheelstand shots from there last night of him and TK, real sweet stuff.
You gotta admit Chris that he still looks pretty good on about every night out, age is not a factor when you have his talent, agreed! Have fun out there, wish I was with ya'...Take It Easy...
PS I heard the plug was being pulled on the rest of the weekend and that the probs were as I guessed last night in the Chat Room, more of a local basis than anything else....

Yeah - the old man still has it that's for sure. I actually won't be there believe it or not. Doing a charity bike ride in San Simeon (here http://www.HCChallenge2010.org/lovett2010 if you want learn more or donate :-) ) tomorrow. I went out there last night for a little bit and saw the same party atmosphere that you would expect. I must admit that I will miss it but doing things different, as you can relate to, for a change. Looking forward to the Fall Nationals & Trophy Cup of course.

No more live broadcasts from Chico tonight or tomorrow night - only tape delay. I better get my $19.99 refunded!

While I appreciate that they have posted last nights race as an on demand feed. I wish they would at least upload it in the advertised quality of 300k stream. Its still a very stuttery 136k feed at around 10-12 frames per second. It makes it almost unwatchable with how low a frame rate they use. With on demand there is no valid reason to not upload the races in 300k. I was streaming 300k video back 10 years ago and the Knoxville feeds are well over 1,000k streams. I dont understand the apprehension in providing high quality footage.

I extend an open offer to Dirtvision that for just my airfare and lodging I will attend any race they broadcast at and I will make certain the feed is of high enough quality to get return customers. This is not hard to do.It doesnt matter if Silver Dollar Speedway has a bad DSL connection or whatever there are multitudes of other viable high speed connection options available. Contact a local broadband company and get a temporary over the air antenna link in exchange for some simple advertising. This can be done.

Ok so let me get this right. You want a killer broadcast on your computer.Hmmmmmm crowds across the country are down so lets do everything we can to make it easier to stay home and watch the show. FN brilliant idea evereybody wins NOT...People need to get of the couch and go support your local track.

I suppose I could call Chico my local track. It'd only take me 30 hours to get there tho

It seems odd in these days when kids can stream near HD quality from their laptops and hookers can do live chat with decent quality on the interweb (or so I've heard) that some folks can't figure out how to stream live racing with decent quality and a steady, reliable feed. If the track DSL connection sucks get a 3G aircard or something similar. Reliable technology is available and it's relatively inexpensive compared to bad PR....

While I agree about supporting local tracks, sometimes there are events worth watching on the internet over going to your local track. Regardless... Dirtvision and the WoO need to get a clue. First, I would never pay to listen to a race (although I understand those that do). Second, 20$ for tape delay? Get the F out of here! I've never seen a Dirtvision cast because I'm usually at the track, but for 20$ they better be TV quality. We did watch knoxville's feeds during the nationals, but they were only worth the price because it was the nationals. Supply and demand, low number of viewer = crap quality = low price. They have two of those backwards it sounds like.

I got an email from Dirtvision that said my $19.99 was being refunded. It sucks that they had problems that basically killed the show, but at least they provided a refund. I agree that the technology is out there and it doesn't cost a lot - the HD Flip cameras are less than $200. If the powers that be really want this to work (and I think they do) they will figure it out sooner than later.
