Imagine that the two votes for the deal were cast by Cornett and Salyer.

I think the city council saved the city a lot of money. I could not see a street race working for OKC, and that has nothing to do with my opinion about the fairgrounds.

I heard an interesting tidbit today it may be speculation but a higher up said that Og&e offered to fix the electric at the speedway for the sum of 0 dollars but Cornett kindly declined the offer such a humanitarian . Can't wait till some horse shit gets spread on our sacred grounds sorry I still get pissed when I think about what's happened . Has anyone else heard that rumor ?
winners dont cry when they lose , they go back to the
drawing board and come back for round 2 !

I had heard something about OG&E but not really what it was about.

That is inline with the way OG&E operates, yes.

My Dad worked for ONG/ONEOK. There was friendly rivalry between the two statewide, and sometimes you could not get service from anyone but OG&E when it came to being in the sticks. Out here, it was propane and OG&E.

Out here it was known for many years, and may still hold true today, 'if you were building a house, OG&E would run the service all the way to the meter box on the house'.

Seeing the speedway as a customer, OG&E fixing the electrical issue would not have surprised me at all. It would have been a nice PR move as well.

Kenny, I could not agree with you more. This type of car at speed takes al-lot more real estate to corner and operate on than the narrow streets of Bricktown. There is not a snowballs chance these cars would ever be capable of getting up to speed and putting on a good show for the fans.

The 35mph Race was a bad idea to start with.
