Cody Morris, OKLAHOMA CITY,OK (August 21 2010) - The skies threatened, but ultimately subsided and allowed the Lucas Oil ASCS2 finale to storm forward. And still a "Legendary" Flud fell upon southwest Oklahoma City as Pryor, Oklahoma's proven ace Frank Flud snared his 4th Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw victory of the 2010 campaign.

Edmond, Oklahoma's Will Harvey and 2009 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing Champion Riley Adair both earned their first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Victories of the 2010 campaign, and in strikingly similar fashions as well.

In Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw action, Frank Flud would pace the field to the initial green flag of the 25 lap main event. Current 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw point leader Blake Hahn capitalized on his outside 2nd row starting spot to apply pressure to Flud by the event's 5th lap. Hahn would shadow Flud until making a series of attempts for the lead through the middle stages of the race.

However, Flud would flawlessly maneuver lapped traffic over the final 5 laps to take his 4th series Outlaw victory aboard his MobilVac, Heritage Flooring, Metric Cycles, Fenton Graphics, Factor One Racing, Jennings Powdercoating, Pro Shocks, and Airflow Racing Products sponsored no. 81 Outlaw machine.

I-44 Speedway 2010 Mini Sprint Nationals Champion and current Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Championship point leader Blake Hahn would settle for runner up honors with Norman, Oklahoma’s Christopher Bell completing the Outlaw podium. Ocheleta, Oklahoma's Preliminary I-44 Outlaw winner Michael Wickham and Tulsa, Oklahoma native Matt Ward would complete the top 5 running order. Sapulpa, Oklahoma's Blake Hahn would build upon his narrow point lead throughout the weekend - entering the I-44 double with a 32 point lead and exiting with a 44 point lead over the up and coming Christopher Bell in the 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Championship Chase.

The drama would unfold early in the 25 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing main event. In their individual quest for 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing Championship glory, both Pauls Valley, Oklahoma native Steven Shebester and Norman, Oklahoma's Christopher Bell would lead the field to the start. The raging battle that has been so evident in their points battle would also flare on the track after a turn 4 Mike Matherly tumble before the field could complete a lap. Shebester nabbed the lead early, but Bell would apply immediate pressure in nearly every turn, with Shebester on the low side and Bell pounding the high cushion.

The two Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing stars would continue their battle, with Bell hounding Shebester's off of each turn, but in the event’s 15th lap, Bell would finally get too close, making an attempt to move under Shebester off of turn 4 that would ultimately result in a full contact spin. Shebester would refire and join the tail of the field, with Bell joining him as penalty for his role in the incident.

Defending Lucas Oil ASCS2 Champion and Tulsa, Oklahoma native Riley Adair would inherit the top spot and ultimately go unchallenged over the final 10 laps to grab his 1st 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing victory aboard the Ed Mangrum owned, Factor One Racing and Metric Cycles sponsored black no. 2 Non Wing mount.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma’s previous night hometown winner Shelby Byrd would finish with runner up honors, with fellow Oklahoma City native Trey Marcham completing the Non Wing podium. Tulsa, Oklahoma's Matt Ward would earn his 2nd top 5 finish of the night with El Reno, Oklahoma native Josh Toho completing the top 5 running order.

Bell and Shebester would continue their battle, this time amongst the pack of the field, before ultimately Bell secured a 7th place finish and Shebester settling for 8th. Entering the weekend 60 points off of Bell's lead pace in the 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing Championship Chase, Shebester would cut that deficit to a mere 19 points exiting the I-44 double header.

As if the drama for the point in Non Wing competition was not enough, Fate made a quick decision to give onlookers a double dose of it in the following 20 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted main event. West Plains, Missouri native and current 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted Championship point leader Logan Martin would lead the field to its first green flag and defend that spot through the early stages of the main event.

The lead duo ofMartin and Newscastle, Oklahoma native Dylan Ake would build considerable distance between the developing battle for the 3rd spot between Hulbert, Oklahoma's Night 1 winner Karley Kay Dobson and Dylan Wickham.

Both battles would continue in nearly every turn, until an almost exact replica of the previous Non Wing mishap occurred. Exiting turn 2 with 5 laps remaining, Ake would make contact with the leading Martin, resulting in a Martin spin, stall, and caution. And in a mirror image of the Non Wing main event, Ake would rejoin Martin at the tail of the field as penalty for the incident in the Restricted event.

Tenth starter Will Harvey would inherit the point with a 5 lap dash remaining. Despite a pair of cautions in those final 5 laps, the fourteen year old Edmond, Oklahoma native would pull away for his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted main event triumph of the 2010 season aboard the Marlin Oil, Oklahoma Heart Hospital, Factor One Racing, Paul Albers Performance, and Custom Colors sponsored no. 2 Restricted machine. Harvey would also like to send special thanks to his father, as well as Brent Martin for their assistance in his Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted triumph.

Second place starter Seth Brown would go on to settle for the same at the stripe, with Dylan Wickham apparently completing the podium of the 20 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted main event. However, upon post race inspection Wickham would be disqualified, moving Hulbert, Oklahoma’s previous night’s winner Karley Kay Dobson into the final podium finish.

Dobson's inherited podium finish would prove valuable, as the lightning fast 16 year old has now finished 3rd or better in an eye popping 13 consecutive Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted main events. Dalton Wisely would snare 4th over brother Colton Wisely to complete the top 5 Restricted running order. Trailing Logan Martin by 59 markers entering the I-44 two night stand, Karley Kay Dobson would nearly trim that deficit in half, now trailing Martin by a scant 30 markers in the 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted Championship Chase.

Both Lucas Oil ASCS2 results and point standings exiting the weekend's action are fully updated and posted at www.ascs2racing.com.

The Lucas Oil ASCS2 staff would like to thank all drivers and fans for their participation in the weekend event, as well as I-44 Speedway for their terrific hosting of the Lucas Oil ASCS2 weekend double.

The Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw, Non Wing, and Restricted divisions will roar back to life in two short weeks, with a 2 day Labor Day Special at the famed Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Friday, September 3rd and Saturday, September 4th.

Good job again, man! Definitely was some drama this weekend, to go along with some good hard racin'. Congrats to Flud and Adair. Those guys were on it this weekend.

Man, what's up with Bell? It's really a shame to see, cause the kid has a lot of talent, and is fun to watch, especially in the non-wing, but he's lost his brain here of late or something. An ill-advised slide job on the 2nd lap Friday night and 2 spinouts, taking out several other cars, and then just flat driving thru Shebester last night, plus other similar incidents in recent weeks, it just doesn't look good from the stands. Maybe these kids need to quit watching NASCAR and Kyle, Carl and Keselowski just dumping people cause they can't pass them. Take a lesson from Blake Hahn. If you can't pass cleanly, then you don't pass. PERIOD!! Have some patience and some respect. Blake was faster both nights, but Flud had the line and raced flawlessly and prevailed. And Blake tried everything he could without wrecking him. Now THAT'S racin'! And that's class, too. No one wants to finish 2nd, but you know what...that's life sometimes. You can't win 'em all, but you CAN win respect and a good reputation. And there's a lot to be said for that!

Sorry for the rant, but I really hated to see that last night from Bell.

Thanks for the kind words about Blake. I was very proud of how he raced Frank both nights. That is how he has raced since racing juniors at age 8. Even if we don't win the Outlaw championship this year I will be proud of his effort and sportsmanship.

You're welcome, man. Been impressed with Blake this year. I was pulling for him to win it, but glad to see that sportsmanship. I really enjoy the micros and the ASCS2 series. You guys put on a great show, especially the non-wing. And that writer you got is really good, too. He has quite a way with words. wink

We have raced with Blake since he was 8 and he has always drove clean. He has won the Mini Sprint Nationals several times, The Tulsa Shootout, Pete Frazier Memorial, Spring fling and many other races. Ive always been a fan of his (even when he was kicking our butt), but this year the kid has really steped up winning several times in the ASCS2 highest division. More impressive is how he carries himself. Very polite and respectful. Ive said this before, I hope we dont loose him to Sprint cars for awhile. If we do, it wont be because of his last name. The young man has talent!

Money isn't everything, but it sure keeps your kids
close!
