Cody Morris, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (August 20 2010) - The plot has officially thickened within the Lucas Oil ASCS2 ranks. Two Championship point races were narrowed with the other remaining close as Michael Wickham, Shelby Byrd, and Karley Kay Dobson stood victorious at the conclusion of three extremely hard fought Lucas Oil ASCS2 feature events.

Ochelata, Oklahoma's Michael Wickham scored his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw feature win of the season. Wickham covered the 20 lap Outlaw main event in wire to wire fashion, taking the checkered flag with a comfortable 8 car length advantage. Wickham battled past polesitter Chance Morton in the first lap and would never look back, leading all 20 caution free laps aboard the Wickham Construction, Gordon Seros Racing Engines, Factor One, and Fenton Graphics sponsored no. 70 Outlaw machine.

While Wickham dominated, the issue was hardly settled behind him as hotly contested battle would unfold throughout the race between Pryor, Oklahoma's Frank Flud and Sapulpa, Oklahoma's current 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw point leader Blake Hahn. Flud would use lapped traffic to his advantage over the final circuits in edging Hahn out for the runner up spot. Hahn would settle for third, with Norman, Oklahoma's championship contender Christopher Bell settling for the 4th and final lock in position to Saturday’s finale. Burleson, Texas racer Jeb Sessums would complete the top 5 running order.

The 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Championship race remains close entering the Saturday night finale at I-44 Speedway. Blake Hahn carries a 37 point advantage over Bell into the finale, with Flud 79 points back in third.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Shelby Byrd scored his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing victory of the 2010 campaign, finding that perfect recipe of talent and luck that has eluded the 22 year old thus far in the season. Polesitter and 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing point leader Christopher Bell would spin to stop in the 3rd lap of the 25 lap affair, collecting Jerry McGinnis and resulting in a Trey Marcham flip in turn 4. All three drivers would be unable to return.

The lap 3 restart would find Broken Arrow, Oklahoma's Alex Sewell in the lead with Byrd in tow. Byrd would defend hometown turf quickly, immediately disposing of Sewell out of the restart and leading the remainder of the preliminary event without challenge aboard his Baker Boys Yamaha, Biotech Products, and Metric Cycles sponsored no. 5 Non Wing mount.

In typical Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing fashion, the action would be furious behind Byrd, as in the earlier stages of the 25 lapper several scrums would produce classic wheel to wheel action that produced Pauls Valley, Oklahoma native Steven Shebester in the runner up spot. Shebester's 2nd place finish would propel him to within 16 points of Non Wing point leader Christopher Bell. Chris Cochran would advance from his 9th starting position to finish 3rd, with El Reno, Oklahoma native Josh Toho and Tulsa, Oklahoma native Matt Ward completing the top 5 running order.

In Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted action, Hulbert, Oklahoma's Karley Kay Dobson would extend her streak of 11 consecutive podium finishes by winning the 15 lap Restricted main event. Dalton Wisely paced the field until a lap 10 yellow for a stalled Cord Dodson in turn 4, setting the stage for a 5 lap dash. Dobson would execute a well timed and brave turn 3 slide job with 3 to go, stealing the lead from Wisely. West Plains, Missouri native Logan Martin would also dispose of Wisely, but ultimately fall short of challenging Dobson.

Dillon Ake would cross the stripe 3rd, with Kade Morton and Dalton Wisely completing the top 5. The win would be Dobson's 2nd of the season aboard familiar Momo's Racing Engines, Bill's Body Shop, JPM, Stallard Chassis and Components, Best Graphics, and Dobson Automotive Specialists sponsored pink and black no. 28. Karley Kay would also like to send thanks to her mother and father, as well as the Morton and Wisely families, and Frank "The Legendary" Flud. The win also marked Dobson's 12th consecutive podium finish and again trimmed her deficit to Logan Martin to 57 points.

The top 4 Friday night finishers in each Lucas Oil ASCS2 division will be locked into the redraw of Saturday's finale. Gates open at 430pm with green flag action set to commence at 8pm.
