Thoughts and prayers to Jack and his family. That looked vicious.

Is I-80 Speedway in Nebraska? Wasnt this the same racetrack that took the life of past World of Outlaw driver Kevin Gobrecht? You would think they would have better fences there...praise the lord what catch fence they had didnt allow Jack to go out of the park and into that cornfield in the background!!

I-80 is a nice facility and I've always enjoyed visiting the track. BTW, it looks to me that the fence did it's job and kept the car from leaving the track.

Absolutely the fence did it's job, keeping the car in the track. I-80 is a nice facility, high speeds equal big crashes sometimes.

That announcer should have his ass kicked. That was a violent wreck. My prayers are with the Dover family.

I've kind of missed out on Jack's updates. Last I heard he was in a induced coma and was pretty beat up? Does anyone know if he has brain injuries? I will be praying for him and his family.

I'm not sticking up for the guy it was a bad decision that he hopefully won't make again but how was he suppose to know Jack was hurt. I hope Jack bounces back and the announcer learned a lesson.

So until you find out if he's okay or not, don't play any music...unbelieveable. That announcer needs a smackin.

Yes that is the same facility that the late Kevin Gobrecht lost his life at but you obviously were not there that night. I had seen way way way worse crashes than that and the driver walked away from and he didn't even hit the wall at all. It was a fluke deal and he got hit as he was rolling and all I am going to say is it was the last time my mom ever took binoculars to the races. I-80 is a great facility and great track!!
I wish Jack nothing but the best. That was one of the nastiest flips I have ever seen and luckily the catch fence did it's job or it could have been even worse. Thoughts and prayers are with the Dover family!!!!

I-80 is an awesome track! Nice long straights with sweeping turns. Good seating for fans in the grandstands that can over look the haulers parked in the infield.
Tracks with infield parking is important because they offer fans an opportunity to see teams at work as opposed to only seeing them after the event is over in an offset pit area. As a child, I used to practically break my neck trying to see what my heroes were doing out of view. Get the "young fan" as interested as possible and he/she will be telling their parents during the week that they want to go back to the races. Make no mistake about it......
The "young fan"(while to young to go out on their own) has a lot of power and say as to where the family will go for entertainment. I-80 offers a great place for the family to be entertained.
I spent some time with Marc (Jack's dad) while he awaited the team to arrive. I really enjoyed our chat and his insights into the status of our sport.
Best Wishes to Jack and the entire Dover family.

First of all, that was ugly and I hope Jack gets better soon. Second, I have always though playing that song after a driver gets in wreck is extremely tacky and unprofessional. Even if a driver is fine he still may have wrecked an expensive piece of racing equipment and it is just plain disrespectful. Shame on you I-80 for your bush league reaction to a very violent racing incident.

That fence did exactly it's job....held him in the track. My concern after watching this video is HOW long it took A SAFETY crew member to show-up and ONLY 1 at that moment. It just seem's like a long time IMO for them to show-up. Watching Knoxville's safety crew jump on any incident really should make one appreciate the professional job that they do and how quickly they are on top of the situation at hand. Anyone else feel the same after watching the video or is it just me?
Whoever played the music is a dumb-ass and needs to be bitch slapped for their stupidity in playing ANY type of music when there's a accident on hand. Real low IMO!
Trophy Cup......Best race of the year hands down!

Would you shed some light on that statement as what more did you want the place to do.

If you go by that premise Eldora would have been closed long ago, as would Knoxville.
Nasty ride. Jack, I am so happy that you are young and strong. I know you will make it back to the track. You know that we are all praying for you and pulling for you.

In the video, you hear the music start before the wreck even starts. not sure if that is an audio delay on the video, or what?

the DJ played inappropriate music, minutes after the deadly wingless wreck at Osky a few years back...I think they wanted to get the party atmosphere rekindled, but it pretty much backfired.

There has been many a night where I wanted to go up, take the mike and throw it over the back of the grandstand at I-80. No research into the sprint drivers is done at all when they are part of the card...
If this post isn't results, stories or something c
constructive, it isn't me!
