Lost in the senseless postings of Sunday night past, there is one very important thing that happened Sunday night during intermission at Enid Speedway Park that has yet to be mentioned.

I talked too Chris earlier in the day that I really wanted to do something for the Robinson family. We got the "okay" from Mr. Beckley and we had the NCRA southern modified drivers go up into the stands during intermission and pass around their helmets to collect donations to Mark Robinssons family.

In the end, something like $1,365 was raised from the great racing fans at Enid Speedway Park and on behalf of the Speedway, Mr. Beckley gave a check for $200. I think, not sure, that NCRA also contributed.

I have never met the Robinson family personally, having only talked with Mark when he came to draw in for the nights he competed with us. But what happened bothered me and I was glad to see the fans at Enid Speedway Park contribute what they did.

We contributed and so did NCRA they matched what I gave which was 200 bux.

We also interviewed Mr Robinsonson's brother and he is a strong man is all I can say. Wow that would have been hard.

I am sure you would also like to mention the Legends that we recognized and hopefully you got some pics of that? I know it was quite a tribute to those who were some that went fast and won races in Enid.

it was some cool stuff seeing those guys all get together and talk stuff was amazing.

We also had some vintage race cars on display.......and Van made some hot laps in his old Hudson as did the other gentleman who had re-built these cars. Wow cool stuff!

At Enid we will strive to always bring an EVENT. . . . . not just another Race.
