Donny congratulated Tim and was great in defeat as he always is when he gets beat. Motor was going away when he was racing Sammy. Time to get rid of these shit tires and go back to 30 laps next year.

As far as your comments go about Schatz being "complimentary as usual"....this is a FIRST...before Donny would come up with ever excuse he could find to say why he came runner up...but this year he didnt. Maybe he's starting to turn the corner a bit...maybe getting off his high horse like Danny Lasoski did when he drove for Tony Stewart. Maybe he realizes now that fans really do make a difference! Nontheless, I still hate the bastardand LOVE to see him get it handed to him!

I counted the same number of blown motors as blown tires.

I bet he wouldn't have if he didn't have to.
If the rule was changed tomorrow morning I'd wager that you wouldn't see another WoO team bolt a GY tire on this year.
The 1st track they stopped at would have a good sized pile of never been used GY tires to dispose of.

Yeah I was very disappointed to hear Joey blew his engine with like 8 laps in...thats just not right. Somebody forgot something when they went to change the engine...a brand new engine just doesnt blow in 8 laps! Joey simply cannot get the monkey off his back at Knoxville...maybe next year!!!

I was actually routing for Schatz when Sammy was in the lead. Once Sammy blew a tire, I was like, alright I can route against Schatz again. I don't hate Schatz as a person, like drf21, but I only got into sprint car racing in 2006, and Schatz had won every Nationals I followed, so I wanted to see someone else win it, but I didn't want him to get dethroned by Sammy. But I am happy it was Tim. Kind of cool, as I was at Rolling Wheels last year when Tim passed Schatz to win at the end also.

Welcome to many of those who have been around a while's world. As much as I like Steve Kinser him winning the Nationals every year was tough. My first Nationals was '93 and Stevie Smith had passed him before they finally threw a red. Karl Kinser got to the car and the rest is history. It was the same thing here on the West coast when Steve Kent was winning everything. Same thing for most of the '90s when Brent Kaeding won everything. You never lost respect for the guys but MY GOD it was nice when somebody else won. More of us can relate to what you are saying than you probably realize.

These 410's of today last about 5 races or so before they have to be "freshened". The engine they changed was obviously their best one than the one they changed to and maybe it had few shows on it, shit happens.
The older I get, the faster I used to be.
