At Knoxville thursday night, actually about 2 or so friday morning, the clean up crew at the races had to use blowers to blow the dirt and trash by the front stretch gate, which they had been doing all year because its their job. There was a pretty big crowd in the way and their boss said keep going they will move. So they continued to do their job while beer cans and other items were thrown back at them also while being cussed at and flipped off. TK came out of the crowd cussing and attempted to kick his sandal at one of them. He stood there cussing out four high schoolers who were just doing there job. It got to the point where I thought he was even going to strike one of them. I WAS a TK fan until this classless act by him. Also the renta cops failed to do anything about it. They refused to keep the crowd from throwing things at high schoolers. they infact threatened to put the clean up crew boss in jail. They whole thing was a scary scene that could have gotten out of hand at any moment but the renta cops ignored the kids safety.
That is the real Tim Keading.

let me see. did you do anything to try to defend the kids? did you do anything to try to diffuse tk? did you stand up to tk and try to tell him off in person, or did you just run to your computor?
that's what i thought.

To be honest I didn't read a large number of posts in this thread because there are just too many, but this is just me talking as a fan who wasn't around when the incident took place.
I have been a fan of the whole Kaeding family since I remember seeing Brent race long before Tim or Bud was anything to talk about, and I have spoken to Tim on a number of occasions and he has always been one to treat anyone who comes to him with respect and as a friend. Therefore, I will admit I am biased, but maybe he was stressed out about how his night went from promising (qualifying 11th setting him up to be in a good position to earn some points), to not after dealing with mechanical problems in his heat at the most important night of racing a sprint car driver has each season, but this story doesn't fit the TK I know and cheer for.
Also, I would like to know what it looks like to almost hit someone? Did he swing and miss or what? And even if all the original story told is true, this mistake doesn't change my opinion about him, because everyone loses their temper sometimes and I have seen enough of his real personality to compensate for one supposed outbreak.

Tell all that to the kids that if you grow up and get drunk it is OK to mess with kids trying to do their job. I was not there so I did not see it happen ,but if it did I do not like the idea that a lot of you think it was ok for grown people to get after kids.
If it was my kid and they were up at 2 trying to make a little spending money somebody would need to do some explaining in person. To tell someone that it is ok to pick on kids doing their job is BS.
To be clear I do not know if it happend but if it did saying that it was ok was not right.
Why do our kids grow up with no respect?
We all talk about young fans of the sport and look at the kids that are there and lets just thash the place and let these young kids walk around in it or we could clean it up and show some class.
I did not say TK did this. I am saying it was not right to say it was ok

The first time you posted, you sounded like a bystander, now you sound like part of the cleaning crew. Which is it, or, are you making this up as you go? And, another thing, highschoolers like 18+ yrs old high school, or younger? I've seen some big 'ol boys that are 18ish that could whup some ass. Also, why are kids working at 2 am? If you are going to tell a "story" give us some juicey details. But, in the end you are intitled to your opinion about the people YOU meet and/or run into.

I have said this before, and I will say it again...
This kind of crap really pisses me off. Some anonymous person comes on the Internet and starts slandering someone who is well known in the industry, casting aspersions and trying to push his opinion off as fact, all while hiding behind his little computer. Nothing more cowardly than that...My question is, who is the real "Knoxgasman"? But, it's a rhetorical question because, I know exactly who you are...
You are nothing more than an Internet paper tiger. This example of cowardice is more heinous than usual because you originally portray yourself as an innocent bystander, then later admit to being one of the people involved by saying, "beer cans were being thrown at me" and "What did we do wrong?"
I will tell you what you did wrong, you anonymous fester...You came on the Internet and whined like a 4 year old girl about something that you should have taken care of like a man the previous night. You also came on here and lied. You lied about your involvement. And you made an accusation that Tim almost "struck" someone...Well actually, at first you said "I thought he was even going to strike one of them", then you changed it later to, "he about struck one". I'm betting Tim threatened to shut that pie hole of yours after you ran it like a b@$&h. And in front of these so-called, "high school kids", no less. Besides, what are "high school kids" doing up at 2am? On a school night, no less. Sure, some schools aren't open just yet, but whatever. Teenagers should not be out at 2am regardless. Especially being up after hours in a crazy, unpredictable atmosphere as the one that the Knoxville Nationals presents. I'm betting he was simply trying to teach you some manners for running your yap.
And you wanna know why the cops didn't do something about Tim? Because you and your crew were causing a disturbance that did not need to occur. EVERYONE knows that the cops at Knoxville are just looking for a reason to throw someone in jail, and the fact is, if Tim had done ANYTHING remotely like what you said, he would have gone to jail for it (and booked for the flimsy, catch-all law of "public intox"). Alas, they "threatened to put the clean up crew boss in jail" instead. Which was probably you. The cops allegedly "ignored the kids safety" probably because they never were in any actual danger. You may have been. For acting like a punk***b@$%h. So, you are here to lie and manipulate public perception all because you are angry that you got called out and you are nothing more than a coward. That is what cowards do.
You speak of Tim's alleged "classless act", but yours is even more classless, because it's an outright attempt to sully someone's reputation to the world on an Internet message board. This is a total b@#$h move. No self-respecting man would do this. I pity you. You sir, are a liar, a coward, and yes, a b@#$h. You should be ashamed of yourself. I'm ashamed of you, and the fact that you are a member of my species. You undermine all mankind when you act like this. Thanks for that, janitor boy...
I've said enough. Go ahead, don't be a fan of Tim's any longer. Who'd want your fandom anyway? That is all, garbage man...

WOW, talk about a keyboard commando! I just wonder how much of that tandrum would have taken place in a face to face situation. I don't know for sure what took place but it would have been funny if one of those Iowa wrestlers would have kicked the crap out of TK, if all this was true.

MANY TIMES. First one was 74...probably B4 your time!
Did you read my post? NO!!!
I either had work to do or got a shower and hit the sack.
I did not need booze or a party to enjoy being a part of the NATIONALS.
Believe it or not, some people go just to attend the races.

Fact is ,no one has contradicted the post....no one has stated 'I was there and it didn't happen'...Mr.Mills you defend your friend ,thats fine, but with one phone call-you could have ask him his side of the event....instead you choose to act like a defense attorney and attack the accuser. How about a little less character assasination and a few more facts.anyone?

hey, i just asked a question. i don't know wtf your damn life story is so lighten up! if you have been to the nationals, you know that the people were probably not IN the stands but UNDER the stands in the main walk way. you would also know that the place is pretty much open to people all hours.
1974? ha, you're just a punk kid!
maybe if you would have hung around and socialized a bit you wouldn't be such a tight ass! you don't have to be a drunk to have fun after the races.

Well put, vanh. Who knows how much is true, but absolute BS on "the mob" actions if it did occur. Not much of an example for our youth and certainly nothing "punk*** b@$%h" about not "taking car of it like a man" face to face with the mob; all that results in is a guaranteed trip to the drunk tank next to your new buddy.
If it did occur, then it's not right and I'm shocked so many people would be in defense of the action. Kinda makes one wonder how much defense for "the mob" there would be if TK's name wasn't involved.

it doesn't matter whose name was involved. the issue of blowing through the crowd should never have occured. if the crowd was not cooperating, just leave them alone and come back later. why antagonize them? why make a big deal of it. just do what you can. why make a pissing match out of it? you are there to do a job, not to play chicken with a crowd. next time, walk away. if the crowd would have moved, there would have just been a mess to clean up somewhere else. so what's the diff?

The races had been over for a long time... it's 2:00a, really... could people just not move so that the employees could do their job? It's pathetic and ridiculous. I too am no longer a TK fan

i agree with you that the crowd should have just moved. my point is, what was done when they didn't. instead of avoiding a confrontation, it seems the crew proceeded to blow through a group of people. the crew asked the people to move. the people didn't. the crew should have just worked where they could and moved on and there would have been nothing to say about it. instead they seemed to persist and antagonized the crowd and finally proceeded to blow dirt and trash through them. when it was all said and done, this original poster seems to have not gotten the justice or the satisfaction they were looking to get, and decided to make a national scandle out of it. sounds like they lost the territorial battle and are just throwing sour grapes. i am not defending any one. i am pointing out who created the disturbance.

it doesn't matter whose name was involved. the issue of blowing through the crowd should never have occured. if the crowd was not cooperating, just leave them alone and come back later. why antagonize them? why make a big deal of it. just do what you can. why make a pissing match out of it? you are there to do a job, not to play chicken with a crowd. next time, walk away. if the crowd would have moved, there would have just been a mess to clean up somewhere else. so what's the diff?

If they moved from the fairgrounds then the employees could complete their job while the mob continued to trash their own personal area which they are responsible to clean up. Is it really that difficult to move along and let someone do their job? I seriously doubt this many people would be in defense had TK's name not been dropped.
Imagine if all the Knoxville employees just waited till the crowd moved along to do their job.
