I looked up how many cars timed in and raced in 1991. 83 cars both nights. Anyone remember those days? Anybody who was anybody was at Nationals. Good times!

That was my first of only two trips to the Nats. I can only remember so much of it being 13 at the time. Remember Wolfgang running over a wheel and tire (from Jack Hewitt I think) under cation while running 4th in the A on Sat. And of course Kenny Jacobs (Wintermeyer 1w) pulling alongside Steve for the lead but that was as close and he'd get. He later said he got nervous when he did that. He should have won that race.

I'm just saying that everyone wanted to be part of Nationals. 50 cars last night. 83 back then. That's another whole A-main field with a "B."
Good ones, bad ones, wild ones, and the best ones. Glad I could be there.

I was there and started going regular in 1978. Great racing. Really loved without wings but fewer injuries now. Good thing.
