In the past Lawton has been fairly organized but last night sure ws not the same. What happen? Line ups for features took for ever and the pay out was all messed up. Cars that had been lapped were being paid for positions they did not hold and other's suffered. Will this get better or is this what we will expect from now on?

I thought I was the only one who noticed. The flagman was out to lunch. Forgetting to throw flags, throwing the wrong flags, etc. The two girls that were selling 50/50 tickets, that the announcer kept raving about, sat in the stands for 2 hours talking to a couple of guys. Even when the announcer said to stop a 50/50 girl, buy a ticket and support the LSRA, they sat there talking to the guys. Also thought the racing was boring.

Don't ya get it? Your a girl selling 50/50, stop, talk and flirt with the boys and they are more likely to buy more 50/50 tickets. I know if SFS had girls in bikini's or the Hooter girls selling 50/50 then I would be spending money on that instead of the consession stand.

Man I knew I would get on here and there would be something of this sort. I know they said that some of the people helping out were new but that was horrible. In the features there were cars stopped in the corners and no yellow, debris in the middle of the track and no yellow I guess it will take someone really getting hurt for something to happen.

for those of you who want to see some real good racing. Here's a slate of it for you on Memorial Day Weekend with a CCC twist.

Friday May 25: State Fair Speedway in OKC. Super Sprints, Champ Sprints, Modifieds, and Factory Stocks. Pro Stocks are off that night. should have a good number of cars in each class....especially the Super Sprints. Super sprints will probably average 30 a night by years end.

Saturday May 26: ASCS Sooner Region in South Coffeyville, OK. Always a long drive......but the racing is well worth it. Good racing and good car counts in each class. And whereas it is a very long drive.......in light of the Sunday night race.........staying in Tulsa (1 hour drive) might be the best bet.

Sunday May 27: ASCS Sooner Region at Creek County Speedway. Always entertaining. Never know what to expect there. But since most are off work Monday there should be a large field of sprints. Support classes are ALL open wheeled. ASCS2 car I think. 600cc outlaw mini-sprints and then I think restricted and A-class as well. Lookin forward to that one.

The best part of all of this is most do not have to work Monday. I may be 1 of the exceptions. But if you're a sprint car fan.............that is a must-see trio of races.

I knew that it would only take a couple of days for some people to get on the forum and start in on Lanny. What I have to complain about is: the flagman needs to be his own decision maker however the girls in the booth do need to help out by letting him know when there is a potential danger for other drivers including the one that is spun out.

Secondly, what the heck took so long for the line-ups to get put on the board. They were rushing throught the program as is and then they want to wait to put up line-ups for the features. Let's get it together.

Thirdly, for those of you who want to complain about the 50/50 young ladies, I have one thing to let you know. Those young ladies bring in more money than you are probably worth (madmodfan this is for you). They do a great job and they bring in a lot of money for the LSRA. Let's see you attend some fundraisers and dinners sponsored by the LSRA and help out instead of complain.

The nigh was filled with excited all around and everyone hopefully got their first nights jitters out of the way. Let's keep moving to a great year and have some fun.

Don't remember names just that it happened in one of the sprint heats and again in the mod feature and I was just wondering if they had changed the rule or if it was because it was the 1st night.

We all knew going into the night that thigs were gonna be a little messy. They announced at the drivers meeting that the flagman and others in the pits taking care of the lineups were new. The scoring and getting the lineups sent down and getting the payout readyin timely is also because there were 2 new gals in the score booth (plus the new announcer in the booth). Hopefully they will get the swing of things and everything will smooth out. As far as the 50/50 sellers...that is a difficult job and they are teenagers (one of them being my daughter by the way) and they were asked at the last minute to sell 50/50 anyway due to some of the usuals not being there. They (the 3 of them) also raised over $300 for all the time they spent "setting and talking to guys" so it seems they did do a little walking around and selling.

It always amazes me the ones who complain......

Thanks to all those that support!!!

Tina

HK is it always necessary to repost what I write to make a point to me. Or are you being rude and crude?? Everyone knows who you are reposting to and on top of that it is kinda of childish.

Anyways, in Sprints that only reason why the #14 was able to stay out there is because he is married to Lanny's granddaughter and somehow deserves special treatment. I believe in the modified class, the one car that spun out twice actually broke and went of the track. The rule of two cautions bc of you and you're out is still in effect. As Tina stated above there are a lot of changes going on right now at the track so it will probably take a couple more races for everything to get sorted out.

I do want to thank all of the supporters of the race track and LSRA for doing a great job in promoting the Association and thanks for all the people who bought 50/50 tickets to support the racers fund.

See everyone this Saturday (if it doesn't rain out)!!

Stefanie

Not trying to be rude yet! I guess if you hit reply beside the thread it automatically quotes the post you are replying to. By the way I don't believe the 14 ever caused a yellow in his heat I believe he won that Heat. I guess the new question is why was that rule not in effect at all times last Saturday?

I guess bc everyone was new at there. But you do have to admit that the #14 Sprint does have a leg up on the competition due to the fact that he is married to Lanny's granddaughter???

Tell me how the 14 sprint should have been black flagged. As posted above he won his heat and he ran 5th in the feature. Was not involved in a single yellow all night. He is a very good friend of mine and our cars come out of the same shop and i know for a fact that he does not get any special treatment. Did not get any when he was running a mod and will not get any in the sprint. You might want to get your facts straight before you post something on here. If you dont know for sure it would probably be best to keep your guesses to yourself.

Well if I remember correctly and I do....the sprint cars had to wait until he got pushed onto the track and if it had been any other person after 1-2 tries the night would have moved on. I am just stating what was seen and everyone knows there will be some kind of "special treatment" as you put it. On top of that I never once stated that he needed to be blacked flag. I was just commenting on the length of time it took for the sprint car heat race to start. So get your facts straight and maybe re-read some earlier posts.

I agree Stefanie 100%, but I also wonder if Lanny was there he may not have let them take that long to fire. I do however think he should have been put on the back of the field or he himself should have went to the back in case it quit running on the start and stacked everyone up behind him. It all worked out for him and as for the special treatment I won't say that Lanny will give that to him, but I also know nobody wants to take a chance on pissing off their boss either.

Thank you very much HK and it is true that no one wants to piss off their bosses. Anyways, it was a great weekend and we did beat out the rain. The racing was good and not too many wrecks. Hopefully it will dry up before Saturday so we can go racing again. Again thanks HK for the support.
