Would you really expect any other decision? Be honest.

Actually. Wasn't that an inadvertent yellow and shouldn't. He have. Got his spot back?

The radio said that the field was not properly aligned for the restart and the second yellow waved off the improper restart instead of being charged to Sammy as his second yellow.

seems kind of funny because the line up for the restart didn't change and the green was out until Sammy stopped

Why would you put Sammy in the pits?
Look at the show he put on.
I haven't seen Knoxville consistant with rules all year.

I figured the first yellow was just an inadvertent yellow because he never stopped just slowed but then gassed it up. Hopefully that was just the begining of an exciting week.

1) Don't know if this is even a rule anymore...and if it is, I would hope there is some officials discretions involved...the intent of the rule is for the squirrell in the back of the C Main who can't get through turn 1 by himelf without spinning and just delaying the show..
2) They are running under ASCS rules for this event. So, quite possibly, this is not in there rule book.

ASCS just sanctions the event just like the outlaws used to sanction the 410 nationals but it is Knoxville rules! i agree he put on a show but rules are supposed to be rules and the 2 yellow rule is still one of them Knoxville needs to get consistant with them but they have always bent them for the big dogs

If they were to send him to the pits, who knows who he would try to run over! Just because he didn't get his way .

"Good Buddy", what does Sammy cutting Danny Woods off during a parade lap have to do with him not getting his way? Surely you're not implying that Sammy was out of line by letting Danny Woods know he was upset about getting almost knocked into the fence just because Danny was in way over his head and needs to learn to use his brake when he tries to pull off something that he is NOT capable of pulling off. Danny Woods should have been sent to the back for BAD DRIVING. I will have to say my favorite part of the rest of that race was when Sammy drove past dw. Bahahaha!!!!!

WOW. what a show he put on. I bet he wins both the nationals, especially if he drives pissed off like he did friday. He alone was worth the price of admission, not even mentioning Hererra and Stewart battling up front. That was probably the greatest racing I have seen and its not even the big nationals yet.

The WoO rule is two UNASSISTED yellows--in other words a driver spinning or crashing by himself twice in one race.

and it was also explained in the live results at the time. The rule is two unassisted yellows. an argument could easily be made that the first incident was not unassisted. The second time, the car came out of gear which is why he didn't take off. However, the front row starter took off too soon. That start was coming back regardless of what Sammy did. But the bottom line is this: He did not have to "unassisted" yellows.

No ..... here is the 'bottom line'.....
The race is over and official ..... whether Sammy had 4 unassisted or assisted yellows he was paid for and awarded 4th place.
That's all ....folks ....
