Got me thinking. Some of you are going oh god he is thinking again lol.
At one point in the broadcast they were talking about how a driver had mag problems and the Westphall's from Wesmar engines were looking into it. I thought you know what this is a worldwide broadcast and here are some guys that not more than a week ago were on this board talking crap to JD Porter about his engine. Of course in a good way.
That is what makes this board so good. We have people on here that have allot of clout in the racing world talking it up with the common everyday fan.
That is also why Mayor McCheese can not see the forest for the trees. You have some of the best sprint car and modified drivers in the country living or have lived within the boundaries of this state. You had one of the best setups both track and grandstands of any dirt track in the nation. The track on the Indiana State Fairgrounds was saved from destruction. But, you decide that instead putting Okc back on the map of dirt track racing such as Knoxville is today. By the way as of the 2000 census Knoxville had 7700 people that were living there. Mayor McCheese took away Okc as a hot bed of sprint car racing. That is what is so sicking to me. Not that racing will not live within the state of Oklahoma but with all the talk of putting Okc on the map there was a golden opportunity to do it at with the track.
The track could have been a Knoxville of the south. But, once again politics and you pat my back I will pat yours wins out. Do not blame the horse people as I have talked to a few of them and they have felt like the track and the horse shows could co-exist. You need to blame the money trail the pads Mayor McCheeses pockets.
