"It may have been different had we continued to race in lapped traffic". This guy thinks of every excuse as to why he doesn't win a race.

I thought it was an honest and humble interview.
It’s not where we wanted to be, but we gave it our best,” said Schatz, driver of the ParkerStore J&J. “It may have been different if we had continued to race in lapped traffic We were pretty good at one point, but when we got the yellow’s that didn’t help us, but that’s part of it. I knew Steve (Kinser) was going to be on the bottom, because he was on the bottom all night. We tried the top, but you have to be smart. You don’t want to drive it in there and drive it off the race track and finish 20th. A guy has to have some common sense, and I probably used too much.”

It is not an excuse, it's an opinion, something you shared with us which I may not agree with either, get over it. Take It Easy.....
PS Just curious, how many Outlaw shows have you won this year....

It was an interview after a race. If that was an excuse, then you as a race fan should be very accustomed to them because just about every driver that doesn't win has an "excuse" for not winning. I thought Schatz's "excuse for not winning" was right on the mark!

He very well may have caught Steve in traffic. Infact he was outside of Steve several times but he couldn't quite get the pass completed. Nobody was going to get past Joey unless something unforeseen would have happened. Joey was just a touch better than everyone else.
On a side note, anyone that thinks that Steve has lost his skill and needs to retire is a fool. The man was just as good as he ever was. I just think that a few of the other teams have caught up to him.

How many outlaw races has anyone won on this board. I guess you've got me beat by one.
