Cody Morris, OKLAHOMA CITY,OK (July 17 2010) - A pair of Lucas Oil ASCS2 stand outs stood triumphant at the conclusion of the I-44 weekend finale, while a red hot gunslinger from Norman, Oklahoma continued his winning ways in sweeping weekend Non Wing action.
Scott Sawyer and Dalton Wisely both dominated the Outlaw and Restricted main events in wire-to-wire fashion, with Non Wing ace Christopher Bell sweeping the Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing doubleheader at I-44 Speedway.
In Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw action, polesitter Michael Wickham would relinquish his pole position starting spot due to mechanical woes, moving Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native Scott Sawyer into the front row to begin the 30 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw main event. It was all the help the 32 year old Sawyer would need, as Sawyer would go on to dominate the duration of the event, despite several early race stoppages.
The win would mark Sawyer's 2nd triumph of the Lucas Oil ASCS2 2010 Outlaw campaign aboard the Finish Line Machining, Sawyer Chassis, Metric Cycles, Ultra Shield, Lightning Wings, Aerodynamic Racing Wheels, Simpson, Advanced Racing Suspension, KMK Enterprises, and Hampton Custom Works sponsored no. 29 Outlaw machine.
Defending I-44 Speedway 2009 Mini Sprint Nationals and 1-30 Speedway 2010 600 Nationals Champion Jason Lair would settle for runner up honors, with Frank Flud taking the show position. Current Lucas Oil ASCS2 2010 point leader Blake Hahn would win a crucial battle with Christopher Bell to take 4th and keep Bell at bay in the Lucas Oil ASCS2 2010 Outlaw campaign. Michael Wickham and Blake Hahn topped heat race action over the 16 car Outlaw field.
Drama would unfold early in the Outlaw main event in unfortunately familiar form, with Tulsa, Oklahoma racer Brandon Hahn being disqualified from his 3rd consecutive Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw event after contact involving Kade Morton. Ensuing off track activities would result in a 2 race suspension from Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw action for Bandon Hahn, coinciding with an indefinite suspension from I-44 Speedway as well.
While Bell would fall short of taking command of the Outlaw point lead, the 16 year old hailing from Norman, Oklahoma would continue his relentless assault on the Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing division. Bell would outgun pole sitter Shelby Byrd to lead the first lap of the 25 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing main event and never look back, sweeping the 2 night Lucas Oil ASCS2 stand at I-44 Speedway and taking his 3rd consecutive Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing score and 5th overall of the season aboard the Ruston Racing and Development, KMK Enterprises, Millenium Roofing, Metric Cycles, Sleeper Graphics, and Home Creations sponsored no. 21 Non Wing bullet.
Oklahoma City native Trey Marcham would keep Bell within sight for the duration, but fail to mount serious challenge in settling for runner up honors. 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing point contender and Pauls Valley, Oklahoma native Steven Shebester would take show position honors, maintaining a valiant effort in keeping Bell within his sights in the 2010 Non Wing point race. Oklahoma City native and newly discovered artillery shell expert Shelby Byrd would hold bring home 4th, with Glenpool, Oklahoma native Matt Ward completing the top 5 running order. Tyler Thomas and Matt Ward topped heat race action over the 19 car Non Wing field.
In Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted action, Sand Springs, Oklahoma native Dalton Wisely turned his pole position starting spot into a wire to wire win in the 20 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted Main Event. The win would mark the 3rd Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted triumph for the 16 year old aboard the A&W,Metric Cycles, Crawford Family, Aerodynamic Racing Wheels, Sawyer Chassis, Maxwell Oil, Danny James, Airflow Racing Products, and Car & Fleet Racing sponsored no. 22 Restricted entry.

Hulbert, Oklahoma's Karley Kay Dobson would finish 3rd, running her streak of Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted podium finishes to six. Dylan Wickham and current 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted point leader Logan Martin would complete the top 5 running order. Dalton Wisely and Blake Jenkins captured heat race honors over the 17 car Restricted field.
