Steve wins....and gets 75 points.

Saldana finishes 23rd....and gets 79 points?

That seems very strange!

Saldana would actually add four points to his lead over Steve. Doesn't make sense!

the points don't change.... they all get same amount of show up points! IT'S NOT AN OUTLAW POINTS RACE. Joey still leads with 8

Non points or not, they also pay points for time trials and heats, so you can't just go by the feature finish.

get real! It's not like the Outlaws created the rules right after the Kings Royal. I knew they got 75 show up points but I didn't know about qualifying points. Steve isn't a very good qualifier but I don't think he cares about the 4 points Saldana got at the Royal because Steve is the one that's bringing home the bacon.

LOLWhere do you guys get ur info? On a non-point outlaw show they all get the same amount of SHOW-UP points reguardless of TIME TRIALS, HEATS, and MAINS; It has always been that way...... butchknouse37- they only give points (ON A OUTLAW POINT NIGHT) to top 5 in qualifying and Main finish. from a sponsor: is that what you really think? Did you have the same complaint with Schatz last yr? If you guys do the math yourself its pretty simple....points are legit! Smile

Qualifying points given:

http://www.motorracingnetwork.com/statistics.aspx?seriesID=6&subID=6&selectedSubTab=raceResultsList&race=5367&driver=496&year=2010

4 points don't matter? Ask Tracy Hines who lost the USAC midget title a couple of years ago by 1 point to tie.

OW -

Paul was quick time = 5 points + 75 for the main = 80 total

Joey was second quick= 4 points + 75 for the main = 79 total

Donny was third quick = 3 points + 75 for the main = 78 total

Cale Conley was 4th quick = 2 points + 75 for the main = 77 total

Danny was 5th quick = 1 point + 75 for the main= 76 total

The KR was a non-traditional WoO race in that only 3 cars(instead of 5) transferred from each heat race; additionally, there were 6 heats, so cars were seeded in the heats differently than a normal WoO show. Since the drivers/cars did not have a chance to earn traditional WoO points during the show, except by qualifying. Just as the WoO pays the show up points at the Gold Cup(teams only face half of the cars on their qualifying night), they do that here in an attempt to minimize the point impact to teams due to the format

thats stupid!!! if they are the best in the world, then pay full points EVERY night!!! Not just on the nights its easier to get points. So it should say WOO Champion on points nights where you dont have to work as hard, not the true overall points champ.......

I agree Duane. The biggest races of the year have no impact on the point championship.

Would be like show up points only for the Daytona 500 due to its non traditional qualifying format.

If there cars are racing...it should be for "regular" points and nothing else.

If someone has a bad night at the KR...well....that's the way it goes.

I won't live long enough to see it but somewhere down the line a "racer' will buy the WoO and do two important things.

1. Eliminate provisionals

2. Have passing points

Oh, how I wish! Smile
